PHPS proudly announces a significant gift from Trey Cox and Erin Nealy Cox to complete the finish-out of the school’s gymnasium. Interior construction of the gym is expected to be completed during the summer of 2026. The Cox’s commitment ensures that students will begin the 2026–2027 school year with a fully equipped gym designed to build strength, athletic skills, and confidence.
In recognition of their tremendous generosity, the PHPS basketball and volleyball court will be named Cox Family Court. Dr. Nicole Bell, Head of School at PHPS, says of the gift that, “this is certain to leave a positive impact on the lives of students at PHPS for a generation to come. All our students–not just the ones competing in sports–will benefit from having this space on our campus. I know that our entire community will be grateful for what this gift will do for our school.” Jeff Rosen, physical education teacher at PHPS, coached both of Trey and Erin’s daughters. Coach Rosen echoed Dr. Bell, saying, “I’m excited that our students will have the facilities to gain confidence as they compete and grow. This is a huge win for our school.”
“This school gave our daughters confidence, character, and teachers who truly cared,” said Trey. “We’re grateful to support a space like the gym that brings students together and builds teamwork.” Erin added, “The teachers here nurture curiosity, resilience, and a strong sense of self in every child. Finishing the gym felt like a meaningful way to give back to a community that gave our family so much.”
Trey and Erin’s transformative gift supports the Foundation for Our Future capital campaign at PHPS, which has raised $7.85 million to date. The campaign aims to raise $15 million by the end of 2030, making it a powerful, once-in-a-generation effort to support the school’s new campus and build sustainable reserves to support PHPS for decades to come. These efforts are led by campaign chair Jennifer Street. Gifts for the campaign can be made online or coordinated through Chase Eddington, Director of Advancement at PHPS.

Trey Cox and Erin Nealy Cox are nationally respected lawyers whose careers reflect a deep commitment to leadership, integrity, and public service. Trey serves as Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn’s global Litigation Practice Group and Co-Partner in Charge of the firm’s Dallas office, where he represents clients in complex, high-profile business disputes. Erin is a partner at Kirkland & Ellis and a former United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, where she led an office of 250 employees and oversaw some of the region’s most significant federal prosecutions. For over sixty years, Preston Hollow Presbyterian School has been dedicated to educating children of average to superior intelligence with mild to moderate learning differences. Founded in 1962, PHPS was the first school in the Dallas created specifically for students who learn differently.
