Coyote Mating Season-Watch Your Pets
|
|
The Lake County Sheriff's office is reminding us we are approaching coyote mating season, which means we will see an uptick in the aggressiveness of coyotes.
We tend to see them more aggressive during mating season and when their pups are born. Plenty of coyotes call Lake County home, so please be sure you keep a close eye on your pets.
Some tips include:
-Don’t let your pets outside by themselves and keep them on a leash when walking
-Don’t feed coyotes or wildlife
-If you encounter a coyote, generally loud noises will scare them away

Message From Lake County Health Department Regarding Vaccinations
|
|
As a reminder, COVID-19 vaccines are still extremely limited due to vaccine supply. In Lake County, only people in Phase 1a: healthcare workers and long-term care facility residents, are being offered appointments at this time. No appointments are available to schedule for people in other groups as we continue to focus on completing Phase 1a.
Please do NOT call the Lake County Fairgrounds to inquire about an appointment, and do NOT go to the fairgrounds unless you have a scheduled appointment. We are not allowing walk-in appointments, and we do not have a waiting list. Appointments are ONLY available through AllVax at this time.
Anyone who lives or works in Lake County must register in the AllVax Portal to be notified when they are eligible for a vaccination appointment. Go to https://allvax.lakecohealth.org to register. Residents who cannot register online can call (847) 377-8130.
The past couple of weeks, our call volume has been extremely high, and our team is working diligently to return calls and emails. Thank you for your patience!
