Greetings!

"Someone accompanies every soul from the other side when it enters this place. Usually it is an ancestor with whom that child shares traits and gifts."

It's hard to believe that we have arrived at the last month of 2023. Sigh. What a ride. So much has transpired in the world and in our own personal lives. As is usual with my newsletters, I try to keep my messages positive and upbeat. There are enough people talking about all that does not feel right in the universe.

So my big news for this year's end is that my self-help memoir, HUMMINGBIRD: MESSAGES FROM MY ANCESTORS, a memoir with reflection and writing prompts is coming soon!

I'm very excited to announce the official publication date as January 15 ,2024 (Modern History Press). This book was written during the pandemic, and inspired by connecting with my ancestors and other important influences in my life. It's been called an uplifting and inspiring story which resonates with many individuals on numerous levels. In addition to being a memoir, the book is a guide to help you connect with your own ancestors—which, by the way, can be relatives, mentors, special individuals, and/or places which have been important to you during the course of your life. Your ancestors can also be individuals who you never even met, but have strongly impacted who you have become.

Please buy my new book and join me on this fascinating journey of discovery!

Not on Demand. (poem) Lock Raven Review. Vol. 19. November 2023.

Creating Peace Through Life’s Storms." (article) The Good Men Project. November 2, 2023.

This wonderful book was just released on October 3rd and I received a free copy from the book publicist. I have always been a big admirer of Thich Nhat Hahn (a.k.a. Thay), and this book arrives at the perfect time when so many of us are reflecting on the importance of peace, both personally and universally. The stories in this book are empowering and powerful. It's not at all surprising how many individuals Thich Nhat Hahn has touched with his wisdom.

The stories illustrate the simplicity and depth of Thay's teachings. They remind us how we can be okay with strong emotions, how we all have the capacity to hold our suffering without become fearful or anxious, and how to speak from the heart and listen deeply. What's so poignant is how the teachings resonated with the author of each personal story.

I was deeply touched by each story and I read one each day, and they served as my daily vitamin. It was like having a cup of tea with Thay. As he deftly shares, "In this moment is everything—all of human history, all our ancestors, all future generations. In taking care of our own anger, fear, and despair, we transform suffering of our ancestors, our children, and their children. We bring peace, joy, and love to the whole world!" (p. 125)

Consider buying a copy for yourself and someone you love. Great holiday gift!
