DEVELOPING YOUNG MINDS THROUGH ROBOTICS & CODING
The Robotics & Coding Program hosted by our Ocoee Middle School Virtual Summer Zone team has "cracked the code" on engaging and developing the young minds of our Club members throughout the summer! The Robotics Program is an interdisciplinary segment of Science and Engineering dedicated to design, construct and utilize robots. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF) Summer Zone Virtual Program helps our Club members to further develop their STEM skills while providing them with a framework to excel socially and academically. Robotics is a great way to help our students increase their self-confidence in math and science and to inspire tomorrow’s engineers.

During our live programming online, we engage Club members utilizing the CODERZ platform, which allows our members to generate programming for virtually simulated robots. Our youth participants learn how to program code by navigating through mission-based challenges at their own pace and creating reachable goals. Club members thrive off of the positive engagement, enjoy working with their peers to complete the challenges, and love having their very own virtual robot! Our middle school participants are excited to be a part of this interactive program and look forward to each virtual session. In fact, our parents tell us how excited their teens are to participate in our online Robotics Program. At the same time, our members develop confidence and improve their communication, problem-solving, team-building, creativity, math and writing skills.

Our goal is to provide students with fun learning opportunities that allow them to collaborate with others and to communicate their ideas through virtual robotics, so we can cultivate the building blocks of leadership and create a positive, team-oriented environment for each Club member involved!
