"Nick 13 has the timbre of Chris Isaak, the tone of a young Lyle Lovett,
with some Elvis and Ricky Nelson mixed in."

Los Angeles, CA - Craft Recordings announces a reissue of Nick 13, the self-titled debut solo album from the frontman of SoCal-based rock trio Tiger Army. Originally released on Sugar Hill Records in 2011 and currently out of print on vinyl, the album is a timeless country and Americana-flavored collection, comprising Nick 13 original tracks such as "Carry My Body Down" and "All Alone," as well as 2011 reworks of Tiger Army favorites "Cupid's Victim" and "In the Orchard." On November 9th, Nick 13 will be re-released on standard black vinyl, as well as limited-edition pressings on walnut-colored vinyl and clear vinyl (only 500 of each worldwide).
Since its original release, Nick 13 has been hailed by country music press outlets, such as No Depression and CMT. Nick 13 has appeared at Austin City Limits, Stagecoach, SXSW and on WSM Radio's "Americana Carnival" in Nashville. He completed two full U.S. tours in support of the album in 2011, which kicked-off with two sold-out record release shows at the Troubadour in West Hollywood. "Nighttime Sky" debuted at #1 on CMT Pure's fan-voted "12-Pack Countdown," and "Carry My Body Down" also reached #1. "All Alone" received airplay on GAC TV.
's crucial West Coast influences-the Byrds, Merle Haggard, Ricky Nelson and Buck Owens-linger in the melodies of his solo debut. In the classic country tradition, loneliness and romantic longing weave their way through Nick's music. The autobiographical lead track, "Nashville Winter," captures the inherent isolation of leaving behind everything you know yet ends on a sweet note as he goes home to his darling. "Carry My Body Down" and "All Alone" are more despondent, as the subtle rhythm section-one of the album's clearest sonic ties to the past-enhances the melancholic mood.
The California-country sound of Nick 13 includes roots elements that were present from the beginning of Nick's internationally recognized band, Tiger Army, the psychobilly rockers who garnered high visibility thanks to favorable reviews in the New York Times and a national TV appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
co-produced by Greg Leisz and James Intveld and features performances by some of Americana's best players: Eddie Perez (the Mavericks, Dwight Yoakam), Josh Grange (k.d. lang, Dwight Yoakam), Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek) and Lloyd Green (Johnny Paycheck, the Byrds), as well as Leisz and Intveld.
This seasoned cast of giants of the genre provide stellar backing as Nick 13 explores the country influences that always tinged his earlier work as frontman of Tiger Army.
