Penn Fusion Announces Craig Scangarella and Maddy Evans to Lead Girls Senior Academy


West Chester, PA: Penn Fusion Soccer Academy is excited to announce the appointments of Craig Scangarella and Maddy Evans to leadership roles within the Girls Program under the guidance of Technical Director Tino Mueller.


Craig Scangarella will serve as ECNL Director of Coaching (U15–U19), overseeing the ECNL and ECNL-RL pathway, college placement program, and senior team coaching staff. A long-time Penn Fusion leader and USSF B-licensed coach, Craig was Head Coach of the club’s 2024 ECNL National Champion 2008 Girls team and brings extensive experience in player development and college placement.



Maddy Evans has been named Senior Academy Director (U15–U19), leading curriculum, coaching development, elite player development, and player identification across the Girls Academy and Travel pathway. A former NWSL professional and captain at Penn State, Maddy adds elite playing and coaching experience at the international and collegiate levels.


Together, Craig and Maddy will help drive the continued growth of Penn Fusion’s nationally recognized Girls Program, supporting player development, competitive success, and college placement.


These additions will provide high-level leadership and collaboration with the Junior Academy Director (Martin Wood), and Mid-Academy Director (Emily Curran).
