Dear Friends:

Like the women of Easter morning, we run with longing toward our hope this year, "while it is still dark." Like them, we have found ourselves "half overjoyed, and half fearful." We awaken in wonder over the courageous love so many have poured out in our suffering world. And yet, we know the profound vulnerability that has bound us to one another.

All of us at Cranaleith want you to know that we hold you in that place of faith, where we discover we are not alone. We pray for you and your loved ones to experience deep peace under the anxiety of this moment.

Thank you for sharing that faith and that peace with us.  May the joy of these holy days rise up in you and fill you with love for God and for God's people.

Kernels to Nibble on... Invitation to Meditation

Just in case you did not get to see or hear Pope Francis' prayer on Friday March 27, 2020, I have quoted an excerpt here to use for meditation for Holy Week and beyond.

He used as his context the Gospel of Mark 4:35.

The Lord asks us and, in the midst of our tempest, invites us to reawaken and put into practice that solidarity and hope capable of giving strength, support and meaning to these hours when everything seems to be floundering. The Lord awakens so as to reawaken and revive our Easter faith. Continue reading

Listen From Home

Our board chairman, Steve Hart,
not only dedicates countless hours to Cranaleith  but he is also a talented musician.

We are blessed to share his beautiful piece, Behind the Mask.

He says, "I wrote this song last week after seeing a picture of healthcare staff masked and suited up while working furiously on the front lines of the pandemic. It brought to mind their service, courage and sacrifice in these challenging times. I wanted to honor them with this song and hope it gives them some inspiration. Good bless you all. The world owes you a great debt of gratitude." -- Steve Hart

Steve performs with the acoustic band, HMS-Heart, Mind and Soul. Listen to more of his music here.

Are you creating music or other works of art to get through these difficult times? Send it to us at info@cranaleith.org and we will share it with our community?

Let us remember to stay safe.
Let us take no chances.
Let us rely on ourselves and the kindness of neighbors.
Let us wash our hands and believe we will make it through.
Yes, Almighty, we will make it through.
