Post-Election America: Where is Your Citizenship? with Danny L. Thomas, Executive Director, The Peace Center; Bucks County
Saturday, November 7, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

We will gather in the aftermath of the 2020 election, perhaps still uncertain of the results and definitely uncertain how to move forward as a nation. What is certain is that we need conversations around building peace beyond our own tribe or culture.

Having trouble imagining what it’s like to experience a retreat online?
Bernadette Rudolph, program director at Cranaleith, describes what it’s like to join a retreat or program virtually online whether it is for an hour or a full day. Anything that can be done in person can be done in a virtual setting.
Do you need to get away? Do you miss Cranaleith’s beauty?
Have you taken quiet time with God lately?

Reflect From Home
Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Cycle A
Exodus 22:20-26 and Matthew 22:34-40

This Sunday’s passage addresses situations where one person has power and the other does not. While the powerless are constantly aware of the powerful, the powerful often do not notice the powerless. We may attend briefly, to donate a few things or a few hours, but then we literally drive back to our comfort
zones. If we do something that will really change the status of the powerless, it may change our status as well. Yet we love God and want to do as God asks. How can we muster the empathy God calls for?

  • With whom do you struggle to be compassionate? How is that person hurting inside?
  • Try to listen twice as much as you speak today. What difference does it make in your ability to be compassionate?
