Thank you to the teachers, students, and parents who all tuned in to this year’s virtual Rouge River Water Festival. We also want to extend a big thank you to Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s Office and Jim Nash for collaborating with us, and to Pure Oakland Water for their support.

If you missed the Zoom lessons or Facebook Lives - don’t fret! To learn about how much water is on the planet, how water shapes the Earth, and more, all four lessons can be found in one playlist on the Cranbrook Institute of Science Youtube channel.

To our Institute of Science members, we’re offering FREE, 30-minute virtual educational programs via Zoom each month that will cover a vast expanse of science and natural history topics that will excite and engage the whole family.

The second Thursday of each month will feature a program for adults, and there will be an interactive program, designed for children, the second Saturday of each month. We’ll be sharing additional information about the topics and how to register through email, the Institute’s Facebook page, and our website in advance of the first lecture on November 12.

Science Corner
We are thrilled to share with you that this year’s Women Rock Science gala raised more than $250,000! Because of our valued supporters, we’re able to continue our mission of bringing STEAM education to PreK-12 students in underserved communities throughout Michigan. The funds raised support the Institute’s Service to Others initiatives, and are designed to ignite curiosity for children in the areas of STEAM. Annually, nearly 34,000 students benefit from the Institute’s outreach programs.

In case you missed it, we invite you to hear from our incredible educators and scientists on the impact these funds are making:
