An update from our friends at the Craft Council of BC:

Create Day

On 10th October 2020 will be the first Create Day, a new global initiative celebrating the creative process, talented makers and their work.

Create Day, from the team behind London Craft Week, invites creators from across the UK and around the world to open their studios, factories, workshops, kitchens, homes, colleges and community spaces and share their ingenuity, imagination and skill with a global audience. Create Day will celebrate the gifted artists-makers-designers in our midst, some famous, others little known, all world-class.

Create Day is a moment when makers and their fans can meet, share ideas and be inspired by each other. Create Day will highlight that essential mix of magic and skill that separates great from good. And inspire all sorts of simple pleasures, from starting collecting to learning a new skill.

The core programme will be digital, hosted on  createday.org , and beginning overnight in Asia before moving to the UK, Europe and finally North America. As long as it is safe to do so we will also encourage those participating to open up their workspace and share their practice face to face.

The most inspiring resulting work will be featured in a curated exhibition, held after Create Day.
