Creating Backyard Legacies

Our founder, owner, and designer, Joe, has personally curated his own oasis in the middle of the city, complete with Koi fish pond, waterfalls, pergola, built in gas fire pit and BBQ, flagstone pathways, paver patios, sunken trampoline, gazebo, perennials, putting green, and wood fire pizza oven.

His current backyard space has gone through a few transformations over the past 25 years, but the core design has never been changed, only improved upon with different materials, plants, additions, etc.

Joe's yard has always been a place where he has been able to try out new design ideas, concepts, and trends.

He and his wife have also hosted many backyard get togethers over the years, including 2 backyard weddings, many pizza parties, an annual lobster fest, company get togethers, a memorial service, photoshoots, and his son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner just a couple of weeks ago.

Creating backyard legacies is something that we at The Landscape Connection are well versed in; from our own backyards, to yours, we want to design spaces that last a lifetime or longer!

When these clients reached out to us in 2018, their dream was to have their very own botanical garden right in their backyard. Five years later, the perennials are growing in beautifully and the water feature is still bringing peaceful vibes. In fact, this photo was sent to us by the happy customer to bring some zen to our day. 💖

All of these plants work well in our high altitude desert environment and rocky soil (but have also done well with all of the extra moisture we have been getting this spring/summer). The water feature evokes relaxation as the sounds of moving water instantly soothes the mind.

Nature has such a powerful and positive effect on human beings. We love being a catalyst in bringing the peaceful feelings our beloved Rocky Mountains evoke right into your urban personal spaces!
