It's a good thing we didn't have any plans to travel to our respective home towns this weekend. There's only so much that can be done before the fabrics arrive. So, when the fabric boxes finally arrived, we dropped everything else and haven't stopped since!

A Note About In-Store Availability - because this was such a late shipment, we'll need a bit of extra time before we get all of these amazing fabrics on the shelves. If you want to shop for Home Town in person, plan to visit later in the week. We promise it's well worth the wait!

New Arrival! Home Town by Lori Holt

Lori Holt’s newest collection, Home Town pays homage to her very own home town in Utah – inspired by the memories and the families she fondly remembers. Each one of the darling florals and sparkling geometric prints from this designer fabric collection are named after those families. Who could think of anything sweeter?

This 46-piece collection is full of heart and soul in Lori’s classic, vintage style that we’ve all fallen in love with. There is also a wedding cheater print that she knows you will love. Lori hopes to inspire you to reminisce about your own home town and put those sweet memories and this charming collection together to create quilts and home décor projects.

Bundles... Lots and Lots of Bundles Options!

Lori is becoming known for collections with a lot of fabrics. While the complete collection is amazing, we have many different ways for you to bring home some, or all, of the collection to your sewing room!

Complete Collection!

You can choose to bring home the complete collection in 46-piece fat quarter or fat eighth bundles.

Note - The wedding cheater print is excluded from the fat quarter and fat eighth bundles.

Get out your favourite precut-friendly pattern and pick up a layer cakes, jelly roll or charm pack. With the Home Town precuts you will receive 42-pieces from the collection.

Note - The background fabrics and wedding cheater print are EXCLUDED from the 42-piece packages.

If you don't have room in your fabric bins for the entire Home Town collection, we've broken it down into two different 24-piece fat quarter and fat eighth bundles. Either of these bundles will get you well on your way to your next Lori Holt project!

Note - These assortments INCLUDE the Wedding Garden print as well as two of the background fabrics.

Colourway Bundles Available!

If you already have a well-rounded Lori Holt stash, you might want to bring home just a few pieces from the Home Town collection to fill in some gaps. To make the task of choosing a bit easier, we've separated the collection into 6 different colour options.

The available colour options include:

Home Town Sew Along - Kits Available!

Regardless of whether you order a kit or not, if you're going to make the Home Town quilt, you're going to need a set of Sew Simple Shapes. While there is no pattern for the Sew Along, the shapes are essential. The Home Town templates offer an endless variety of designs using your appliqué method of choice. There are 63 pieces in all, and they are made of sturdy plastic, have center marks and are see-through for fussy cutting.

Lori recommends her brand of Sew-In Interfacing, but we recommend the Pellon 30. It's much more economical and offers the same quality.

Quilt Seeds

Perhaps appliqué isn't your favourite technique, but you love the idea of the Home Town quilt. You can create your own charming community with Lori's Quilt Seeds.

Patterns Available!

The Home Town Quilt Seeds is a pattern series for nine different house quilt blocks. Each seed packet has instructions to make one house quilt block – all you have to do is add fabric. No templates are required!

Each neighbour block finishes at 16" x 16". You can mix and match them however you like. Make all nine or pick out a handful of your favourite blocks for a smaller project. Later in the year, Lori will be doing a tutorial on how to make a quilt with the Home Town Quilt Seeds on her YouTube channel. 

We love these Quilt Seeds and will be coming up with some ideas of our own in the weeks ahead. My little eye spies some potential for 'more precision and less stress' with some Studio 180 tools!

Join the Chicken Club!

A couple of years ago, Lori's Chicken Salad Sew Along was all the rage. Now she's turned the loveable chickens from that quilt into individual Cross Stitch patterns. These adorable chickens make up the Chicken Club!

Meet Cornelius, Florence and Hattie!

These are the first three Chicken Club cross stitch patterns in the 12-pattern series. We'll have more patterns from the Chicken Club in the months ahead.

Kits Available!

Tammy and Tami had fun this week putting together kits for each one. These kits, prepared with 14-count Cosmo aida cloth, include the pattern and recommended DMC floss. They also include the fabric and trim to complete the look. The wooden frames pictured above are not included.

We've had a busy Lori Holt week that included restocking some Lori Holt cross stitch kits including assorted Stitch Cards, Stitchy Stars and a new Vintage Christmas Sampler kit. You can browse through them on the website now and they will be ready in-store towards the end of the week.

As you can tell from the Chicken Club, Lori likes to take her popular quilt patterns and make them available as cross stitch patterns. In the case of Stitchy Stars, what started off as a cross stitch pattern is now available as a Seasonal Table Runner pattern.

Star blocks shine bright in this cross stitch and table runner pattern. With a little inspiration, you can easily see that these patterns can be made to sparkle no matter the season!

We were inspired to come up with two versions of the Seasonal Stitchy Stars table runner. One offers a traditional and fall inspired look with Kansas Troubles, while the other is a vintage Christmas Lori Holt version in red, pink and green.
