Creating a Lasting Impact in Casey's Memory

On July 17, 2009 our twenty-one-year-old daughter Casey was killed by a distracted driver. On the 14th anniversary of her death we want to let you know what we have been doing in Casey’s memory. We are very proud of our accomplishments which would not have been possible without your support. We work to end distracted driving, provide scholarships to outstanding young people and support journalism, a passion of Casey’s.

Ending Distracted Driving

At the Casey Feldman Foundation, we are making our roads safer and saving lives from distracted driving. A research report from United States Department of Transportation found that our distracting driving presentation is effective in changing attitudes and driving behaviors.

Through our sponsored project, EndDD.org (End Distracted Driving), we have reached over 500,000 students and adults nationwide. Notable achievements include Joel Feldman’s first presentation in Spanish, his Camp Pendleton, CA, presentation to 300 marines, leadership in the National Distracted Driving Coalition, and continued creation of video public service announcements.

Our newest video PSA, Keep Mom in Your Heart and Your Eyes on the Road, was made possible by a grant from Honda that is getting teens to put their phones down for mom.

Working with experts, we created ready-to-use lesson plans. These teach 2nd-6th grade children to recognize distracted drivers and how to speak up effectively. View one of the animated videos from the lesson plans.

We created a K- 2 distracted driving picture book. “Sam’s Trip to the Beach”, by Danielle and Griffin Potere. Read an online version or purchase a print copy here.
