Creating a new generation of disciples for the transformation of the world

Greetings!

My name is Adrian Lucio and I am the new Director of Student Ministries. I am so excited to be serving here at First Methodist Conroe and can’t wait to see God at work in the hearts of our teenagers.

I’m originally from the Rio Grande Valley, and later moved to San Antonio, TX to pursue a career as a Stand-Up Comedian. In 2012 I got signed professionally and traveled the world, bringing humor and joy to those who needed it. After my contract ended in 2015, I decided it was time for a new calling, Youth Ministry.

I started working as a Youth Director at Helotes Hills UMC and instantly felt at home! Since then, I have served full time at FUMC Palestine, and Coker UMC.

My goal at First Methodist Conroe is to continue building up our youth and offer new and exciting ways for them to serve our church, and community. Creating a new generation of disciples for the transformation of the world.

Lent 2022 Life Group: A Study in the Parables in Luke

We're so excited about a new way to Grow Together this Lent! Grab a Lenten Life Group Guide in the Lobby on Sunday mornings throughout February. Simply, gather a few friends or family members to journey with you through this six-week study of the parables in Luke’s Gospel. Each week you’ll have opportunities to build relationships with your group, discuss the scriptures, and experience what it means to live Life. Better. Together. Everything you need as a host is found in this booklet. Anyone can lead a group though this study! If you have questions or need help getting connected to a lenten life group, contact Christy Moore at christy@fmconroe.org.

Food Bank Fun Run

Sat., February 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Join the fight against hunger by participating in Montgomery County Food Bank's first-ever fun run-Outrun Hunger! Outrun Hunger's proceeds benefit the Food Bank's programs for children, seniors, and families in need of food assistance in Montgomery County. Outrun Hunger's Mardi Gras-themed events include a 5K, 10K, and 1K Second Line Parade. There is also a carnival and vendor fair with face painters, balloon artists, Cajun food trucks and more. So, dress up in your most festive Mardi Gras attire and meet us at the starting line! Laissez les bons temps rouler!.

Membership Class

Sun., February 27 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Are you interested in making FMC your church home? Join us for our upcoming Membership Class in the Wesley Room. This is an opportunity for you to explore membership, to find out more about FMC, and to ask any questions you might have. By attending this class, you are not making the commitment to become a member (although you will have the option to become a member at the end of the class). Childcare will be provided.

Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper

Tues., March 1 at 5:30 p.m.

Join us in the Gym for our Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper! We will have crafts for children, music, we will crown the King and Queen of Mardi Gras, and, of course, lots of pancakes! Cost is $3 per person with a $10 max per family if you pay in advance (by February 22). Cost will be $5 per person at the door. Purchase at the Welcome Center, online, or church office.

Ash Wednesday

Wed., March 2 at 7:00 p.m.

Please join us for a time of prayer and reflection as we ready our souls for the season of Lent. Worship will include imposition of ashes, reflection on scripture and singing. All are welcome.
