Current population data estimates indicate that there are approximately 290,180 individuals aged 60 and older residing in the State of Delaware. Of that, 18,872 are 85 years and older. It is estimated that by the year 2050, the older population will make up approximately 34% of the state’s total population. By 2030, Delaware is projected to have the 9th highest proportion of persons aged 65 and older among all states. (DSAAPD, DE State Plan On Aging 24-28)
