September 21, 2022
September has been a busy month – I’ve been saying popcorn is popping!
For me, it’s meant lots of closed business, onboarding new team members, networking in person again, back to school, and 2023 planning!
I’ve also found myself speaking with friends and business associates about difficult conversations and scripting talk points for several CEO’s. I think no matter how many times we’ve done this, I find leaders are insecure about getting the communication points right. I realize the language of difficult conversations may be one of my super powers – not sure if it’s from the thousands I’ve discussed over my 30 years in HR; or it was learned from my parents.
Either way, this month's blog is a must read, so brush up... and if you find yourself struggling, we are happy to give you talk points once we understand your intent.

"The best article I have ever read on tough conversations..."
So wrote one of our clients about Deb Wijnberg's recent blog, "Taking the Dread Out of Tough Conversations."
This is a tried and true process you need to have in your toolkit!

Develop your employees... grow your business
Last week I had the pleasure of collaborating with three super-smart, fun, and trusted colleagues on NJBIA's Business Growth Roundtable.
I shared how retention and development go hand-in-hand, since 40% of employees want their employer to provide development opportunities. About 65% of training dollars are focused on management and leadership skills training, creating and building confidence and bench strength. This investment in your people is vital in maintaining your culture and values as it aligns with your business plan, creating success for all.

Writes Laura: Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice is near and dear to me; they provided my family support when my father was dying ten years ago.

In addition, one of our young friends who became terminal spent his last weeks in their beautiful, peaceful hospice in-care end of life home in Fredon, NJ overlooking the horses playing in the fields.

His loved ones found comfort in the peaceful, beautiful supportive home-like surroundings... I can’t say enough good things about the work they do.
