Creative Expressions: A Win for Everyone  
A huge Thank You to all who judged, voted and participated in the 2021 Creative Expressions contest! What a bountiful array of talent, hard work and dedication. The works brought joy into our days, delight to our senses and new understanding to our lives.

For participants, “It definitely helps girls think about what they are capable of doing, trying new things and being more confident in themselves,” said Mentor Procedure Chikosi of Girls Time in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

The ripple effect: “When their peers in the community see this, they are inspired to be more and do better themselves,” said Mentor Chate Kaunda, Yosefe and Matula Clubs in Mfuwe, Zambia.

As one club member said, everyone was a winner because they worked together and celebrated together. Truly a community perspective, the spirit of ubuntu. Still, as the top vote-getters in their categories, several club members took home cash prizes to help pay their educational expenses. Congratulations to them all!

We’re in the news, again! The Columbian, the hometown newspaper serving GSGC’s home base, ran a story last month with the headline, “Global Sojourns Giving Circle gets executive director thanks to M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust.” It’s at least the third story in The Columbian in recent years with GSGC at its core. Check it out!

And.......broad availability of COVID-19 vaccines in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, was meant to bring visitors back to the scenic area. What it’s done is perhaps even better — it’s helped keep the deadly disease at bay. Read what Afar magazine says at The Smoke That Thunders.
