Beginning as an after-school lab at White River School in White River Junction, VT, Creative Lives is a nonprofit training parents and educators in A Framework for Wise Education®. Join Creative Lives Inc. executive director Maureen Burford in conversation on a holistic approach to teaching, learning, and raising children is based on author Ellen Tadd’s work on the human energy (chakra) system and its fundamental role in human development.

Know-Your-Rights Workshop:
Tenant and Fair Housing
Thursday, Oct. 26 5:30pm Free@JAM
Learn the fundamentals of tenant rights and responsibilities, as well as fair housing protections. Presented by CVOEO’s Housing Advocacy team in collaboration with The Upper Valley Tenants Union and JAM, this workshop is designed for tenants. For a deeper dive on tenants’ rights and responsibilities, as well as finding housing and financially preparing to rent, The Fair Housing Project also offers more extensive workshops upon request.

Fabulous
More than 20 models struck a pose and strutted their stuff at the annual Tip Top Couture Fall Fashion show. Produced by the stores Revolution and Nancy the Girl in White River, the runway extravaganza has been happening for more than 15 years. Proceeds benefited local farmers hurt by flooding and frost via the Northeast Organic Farming Assn. of VT.

Painful Subject
Vermont teens commit suicide at higher rates than most other New England states, says pediatric critical care physician Dr. Rebecca Bell of UV's Children's Hospital. "Young people who use firearms in a suicide are often experiencing a crisis that is often transient," said Bell in her Windsor, VT, presentation. She recommends universal screening due to the difficulty diagnosing those most at risk.

A newly released documentary collaboration between TA and Junction Arts Media (JAM), aims to shed light on the process. This spring, Thetford Academy partnered with Jordyn Fitch, Junction Arts & Media’s (JAM) community [engagement] producer, to document the making of the musical Godspell. From lighting to costumes, choreography to set design, Fitch and TA’s Spring Musical class set out to give the world a behind the scenes look at the creative and technical work involved in the show’s production...
