Make sure you are in the CTR text alert system to get breaking news of real estate-related legislation needing immediate action. In this legislative session alone, CT Realtors has already helped defeat proposed legislation related to:
• Rent caps & rent control
• Landlord tax
• Required testing public water
• DEEP ability to invoke eminent domain on parts of the coastline
• Tax on vacant properties
Proposals CTR is still fighting:
• Mandatory energy scores for rentals - (Gov. Bill SB 979)
• Buyers’ conveyance tax
• Expanded seller conveyance tax
• Statewide property tax
