Planning & Development Updates

 
Currently, the Planning & Development Department has 15 active projects. Once completed, approximately 722 jobs will be created or retained and the projects will yield $67 million in capital investments. 
 
In 2018, seven projects have been completed. These projects are estimated to create or retain 188 jobs and yield $16 million in capital investments.

Creekside
Creekside Live Rescheduled to 
Sunday, June 24

Due to inclement weather forecasted for tonight, Friday, June 22, Creekside Live has been rescheduled to 
Sunday, June 24, from 5 - 9p.m. 

Will Freed will perform from 5 - 6 p.m. and The Reaganomics will take the stage from 6:30 - 9 p.m.

Cool Off This Summer at Gahanna 
Poolside Events

Throughout the summer, the Gahanna Swimming Pool (GSP) and Hunters Ridge Pool (HRP) will feature a variety of poolside events including the ever-popular Ice Cream Night, Walking Taco Wednesdays and Hot Dog Nights. 

Join your neighbors at HRP on  Saturday, June 30,  for Movie Night showing Disney's Moana. Discounted admission to the pool begins at 4 p.m.;poolside games begin at 7 p.m. and the movie will start at approximately 9 p.m.

City Gears Up for Independence Day Celebration with Family Fun Activities, Fireworks and More!

The community is invited to join the City of Gahanna in celebrating our nation's independence on
Wednesday, July 4.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m., the day will kick off with the annual Gahanna Lion's Club parade, presented by Toyota Direct. The parade will begin at Clark Hall, 380 Granville Street, travel west on Granville and conclude at Royal Manor Plaza. Also, for the second consecutive year, Mayor Kneeland will be passing out his 'Mayor's Award' button to individuals who show their best country pride and community spirit during the parade.

Smart Columbus Ride & Drive Roadshow Comes to Gahanna

The City of Gahanna is partnering with Smart Columbus to bring its Ride & Drive Roadshow to Gahanna!

Join us at Creekside,117 Mill St. on  Friday, July 27,  from 12 p.m. - 7 p.m. to test drive electric vehicles and learn more about Smart Columbus' committment to shift to electric vehicles and other transportation alternatives.

Experience Paddling with Parks & Recreation 

B ask in the glow of July's full moon...the Buck Moon on
Friday, July 27 at 7:30 p.m., and experience the Big Walnut Creek like never before during Paddlin' in the Moonlight. The adventure will begin at Woodside Green Park and conclude at Friendship Park with a bonfire and refreshments with Parks & Recreation certified paddling instructors. Some paddling experience is recommended.

The event is supported by the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation.

2018 National Night Out

The community is invited to attend Gahanna's 2018 National Night Out on  Tuesday, August 7, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Creekside Plaza, 117 Mill St.

Join the Gahanna Division of Police and City Departments for an evening of family fun activities, live music and much more!

Explore and Play at Woodside Green Park

Recently, the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Foundation introduced a new nature play space at Woodside Green Park. 

The play space was a joint project with Girl Scout Troop 678, who volunteered their time and ideas to make the park possible and helped to earn the troop a Bronze Award for their efforts. The wooded area east of the main parking lot features six different elements that encourage creative and active play in natural areas in the park.


City Service Expo Returns August 25

The City of Gahanna's Department of Public Service & Engineering is excited to announce the return of the Service Expo & Touch-A-Truck event. The event will take place on
Saturday, August 25, at Hannah Park, 6547 Clark State Road from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. The event is FREE and open to the public. Food trucks will be on site for purchases.

Attendees will have the opportunity to touch, see and sit on the big equipment that helps make the city run. Visitors will also have a chance to get up close to a backhoe, bucket truck, tractor, fire truck, police car, snow plow and garbage truck, just to name a few.

Ohio Brass Arts Festival

Come enjoy brass band music brought to you by some of the finest brass bands in Ohio this Saturday, June 23, at 2:30 p.m. at Creekside Park & Plaza, 117 Mill Street.

Music in the Park


Join us on  June 28 for The Goldsberrys and  July 5,  for Rendition at Music in the Park! The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. at Friendship Park,150 Oklahoma Ave.
 
Sponsored by Toyota Direct this FREE, family-friendly event features live music and entertainment.  
 
So bring your chairs, blankets or a picnic and enjoy a great concert.

Vettes, Rods & Classics
 

Experience a day of classic cars, hot rods, food and live music at the annual Vettes, Rods & Classics show on 
Saturday, August 4,  at Creekside,117 Mill St. from noon to 8 p.m. 
 
Entertainment will be provided by the band Rendition. Net proceeds from the event will benefit Nationwide Children's Hospital.
