PTSO NEWS & NEEDS
Dear parents, please help your PTSO provide a memorable Holiday Luncheon for Creekside's Faculty and Staff catered by Metro Diner. We would like your help in providing gift cards for the teachers. We would need 170 $10 gift cards as part of the celebration festivities. See sign up below.

Hugs Across the County club members and adult volunteers will be hard at work on Tuesday, December 10th, filling food bags for St. Johns County youth! Last year, Creekside's Hugs chapter stocked over 600 bags with food and the whole county contributed over 1,200 bags of food for homeless and/or food insecure students. We will be outside the small cafeteria in the loading area starting at 7:30 a.m. in case you'd like to stop on by and help!

Our annual Barnes & Noble Bookfair will be on Saturday, December 14 at the San Jose location. Please support our media center by mentioning Creekside at the register. Volunteers are needed as well.

Seniors: Want Bright Futures to get your community service hours on time???
Service hours get updated when we send transcripts to be evaluated in January.

Community Service Hours should be turned in frequently or as earned
to Ms. Hemmer in Guidance.

ATHLETICS NEWS




There will be a track and field meeting on Tuesday, December 10th after school at the stadium. All track and field athletes, and everyone interested in trying out for the team should plan to attend.








CHS Tennis will hold a player interest meeting Thursday, December 12 th at 8:35 am in Portable 13. ALL returning players AND those intending to try out for the team in 2020 MUST attend. The meeting will last 20 minutes. See Coach Vogel with questions.
 




 There will be an informational meeting for parents of athletes who want to try out for the 2020 Boys Lacrosse team. The meeting will be held December 17 th at 7:00 PM in the small cafeteria.
We now have Pixellot HD cameras at the stadium and gymnasium! Watch Knights Soccer, Basketball, Wrestling, Lacrosse, Track, Football, and Volleyball live and/or on demand!

You can also watch the Knights (or any team) across the nation wherever cameras are available including Bartram, Nease, Episcopal, Bolles.

(Hint) Subscriptions make great Christmas presents for out of state friends and family!

CLUB & CAMPUS ACTIVITIES

There is a yarn drive for "Crochet for a Cause" in the front office. Please drop off all yarn there. It will be used to make gifts for the needy, such as, lap blankets for patients and cancer caps. No wool, please. There will also be a meeting on Tuesday December 10th after school in room 575. Anyone interested in joining can pick up an application in Ms. Hancock's room, 575.
Accepting donations through December 13th. THANK YOU!!

Creekside is a donation drop-off location for No More Hungry Holidays! There are donation bins located outside the front office. Your food donations will help the Hugs club prepare bags of food for St. Johns County youth who need food over the winter break. Thanks in advance!   



BAND UNIFORM UPDATE AND MORE

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES 2019

Annual Giving Tree Initiative
Volunteers need to help: distribute paper ornaments with wishes from non-profit organizations serving Elderly, Veterans, Homeless, Abused, Children and Animals in St. Johns County to donation host sites in mid-November. During the 2nd week of December, volunteers needed to: collect donations from the host sites, deliver to sorting location, inventory, sort and box donations for the individual non-profit organizations.
  • This is a great way to share the joy of the holidays with others.
  • Service hour certificates will be available. 
  • Volunteer registration will open at the end of October at the link under Giving Tree on the www.stjohnscares.org Home Page.
