We had another busy week in our office with some of us attending the EDND Summer Conference in Beulah and others going to the GNDC Business Roundtable in Watford City. RE/MAX Bakken Realty opens at New Location

News Release - RE/MAX Bakken Realty celebrated its grand opening at its new location on Tuesday, June 21st. The real estate agency recently relocated to 1135 2nd Avenue West, Suite #201 in Williston. The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting in honor of the reopening. RE/MAX has 39 agents in Williston and Watford City and 14 in Minot.
Creekside Water and Ice celebrates Grand Opening

News Release - A new business has opened in Williston. Creekside Water and Ice celebrated their grand opening on June 23 at 433 Reiger Drive, Suite #4. The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting in honor of the event. Creekside offers purified water, shaved ice, hard ice cream and much more! The new store is located at next to Batteries and Bulbs.
New Daycare prepares to Open on CHI St. Alexius Health Campus; Open House set July 27

News Release - Quality day care is coming to the CHI St. Alexius Health campus thanks to the availability of an existing house and the interest of a local day care provider, Kenzie Brown. Coyote Pups Learning Den, will lease the newly renovated house, known as the Sisters of Mercy House, on CHI St. Alexius Health campus. The new daycare will accommodate up to 60 children and is designed to encourage each child’s growth. The center will focus on cooperative play and creative activities helping kids reach their social, emotional and physical milestones naturally and with ease. Burgum, Sanford discuss Child Care Challenges, Solutions with Providers and Business Leaders

News Release - Gov. Doug Burgum, Lt. Gov. Brent Sanford and Department of Human Services (DHS) Executive Director Chris Jones today held roundtable meetings with child care providers and business leaders from across the state to discuss the impacts of North Dakota’s child care shortage and explore ways to increase access to child care to support caregivers, employers and economic growth. Beulah hosts Economic Development Summer Conference June 21-23

News Release - Williston Economic Development (WED) attended the 2022 Economic Development Association of North Dakota Summer Conference June 21-23 in Beulah, ND! The conference brings economic developers together to discuss important topics related to attracting and retaining businesses and workers to North Dakota.
GNDC Business Roundtable held in Watford City

News Release - The Greater North Dakota Chamber held a Business Roundtable on June 22 in Watford City. The topic was quality of place and discussion centered on how to attract and retain workforce, businesses and residents. The guest speakers were Deb Nelson (@dlnconsultinginc), Dick Vande Bossche (@Oneokinc) and Gene Veeder present.
Connecting Communities BBQ
held in New Town June 21

News Release - The wet and windy weather didn't dampen spirits at the Connecting Community BBQ in New Town on Tuesday, June 21. Western Region Economic Development sponsored the event. About 120 people enjoyed a complimentary burger, brat and more! The BBQ was held at the New Town Civic Center.
Commerce, RoleCall, introduce New Statewide Workforce Initiative

News Release - The North Dakota Department of Commerce and RoleCall hosted a webinar to discuss the state’s comprehensive workforce initiative geared at assisting those interested in relocating to North Dakota. During a recent immersion tour, community champions from across North Dakota gathered in Bismarck for a training session organized by RoleCall and Commerce’s Workforce Division. Crosby's Westland Oil featured in Minot Daily News

Minot Daily News - The last remaining Westland Oil Services station in North Dakota is in Crosby in Divide County. Kenny Sorum took ownership of Westland Oil Services in December 1961, a full-service gas station providing fuel, tire services, oil changes and auto services. ‘“Sorums,” as it is warmly referred to in Crosby, has been a family operation with Sorum’s five children and at least four of his grandchildren all spending time working at Westland’s.
