Babies Need Us. We Need You. Give the Gift of Safe Sleep This Giving Tuesday
At Cribs for Kids, our mission has always rested on a simple belief: when families have access to safe sleep education and a safe sleep space, babies are protected. Every day, our partners, hospitals, and community organizations bring this mission to life, reaching families who rely on trusted information during the most vulnerable stages of early parenthood.
This Giving Tuesday, we’re reflecting on the strength of this community and the impact we create together. Through your support, Cribs for Kids distributes tens of thousands of Cribettes each year, ensuring families have a designated, safe sleep space. Our educational reach continues to grow, connecting with more than 200,000 parents and professionals annually. Our trusted partner programs, the Safe Sleep Academy and our Safe Sleep Ambassador program all play a role in shaping a culture that prioritizes safe infant sleep across the country.
As we look toward the year ahead, we remain committed to expanding our reach and supporting the families who depend on us. If you choose to give today, your contribution will help ensure that more caregivers receive the knowledge and tools they need to protect their babies. An $80 donation provides one family with a safe sleep space, offering peace of mind during a child’s earliest months.
Thank you for standing with us and for believing in safer sleep for every baby. Together, we can continue to protect the most vulnerable among us.

Winter Webinar: Advancing Safe Sleep Through Evidence and Education, January 22, 2026 | 12 PM – 1 PM ET
The Safe Sleep Champions Webinar Series has become one of the most meaningful ways Cribs for Kids brings the national safe sleep community together. Each quarter, we highlight voices who are advancing research, innovating practice, and helping families build safer sleep routines. As we step into a new year, we are excited to continue these conversations with our Winter Webinar, Advancing Action with Evidence & Education: Lessons Learned Across 2025 to Our Work in 2026.
This upcoming session features three remarkable leaders whose work reflects the complexity and heart of safe sleep advocacy. Dr. Mary Beth Howard brings a unique perspective from her work in pediatric emergency medicine at Johns Hopkins, where she studies how infant illness intersects with real-world sleep practices. Her research, grounded in family experiences during urgent moments, aims to create interventions that are both practical and compassionate.
Joining her is Dr. Gina Lowell, a general academic pediatrician at Rush University Children’s Hospital. Her expertise spans injury prevention, maternal-child health, and health equity, and her leadership of the CDC-funded SUID Case Registry in Cook County gives her a deep understanding of the structural challenges families face. Her work emphasizes the importance of trauma-informed, community-rooted approaches to supporting parents and caregivers.
We are also honored to welcome Dr. Kyran Quinlan, an educator, researcher, and advocate whose career has centered on preventing infant deaths through data-driven practices. His time with the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service, coupled with his years of service on Child Death Review, has shaped a national perspective that informs his work with Safe Kids Worldwide and his teaching at Rush University Medical Center.
This Winter Webinar offers a chance to learn from leaders who are driving progress in safe sleep across clinical care, research, and community health. We hope you’ll join us for an hour of insight, reflection, and forward-thinking conversation as we move into 2026 with renewed purpose.

We’re Back! The 9th National Cribs for Kids Conference - In Person, September 2026
We are thrilled to announce that the National Cribs for Kids Conference is returning in person to Pittsburgh from September 29 through October 2, 2026. After several years apart, this long-awaited gathering will bring our safe sleep community back together in the way we remember so well.
Those who attended our conferences before 2020 know the energy they created. Providers, researchers, nurses, home visitors, first responders, community advocates, and program leaders from across the country filled the rooms with conversation, curiosity, and shared purpose. The connections made during those days strengthened partnerships, sparked new ideas, and helped shape the national direction of safe sleep education and programming.
In 2026, we are bringing that spirit back. Attendees can expect dynamic presentations from national experts, new research and emerging best practices, hands-on learning opportunities, and meaningful discussions that speak to the challenges and progress of the field. Above all, we look forward to the sense of community that has always made our conference an inspiring, energizing space for everyone who attends.
Whether this will be your first time joining us or a long-awaited return, we cannot wait to gather again in our hometown of Pittsburgh to learn, connect, and continue building a future where every baby sleeps safely.
Save the date - more details and registration information are on the way.

Professional Training Series Receives Outstanding Feedback From the Field
As professionals across the country continue to engage with the Cribs for Kids Professional Training Series, we’ve been inspired by the thoughtful feedback coming in from those who use this resource every day. These trainings were created to support the providers who play a crucial role in shaping safe sleep practices, child welfare teams, home visitors, childcare professionals, first responders, and so many others who interact with families during the earliest and most formative months of a baby’s life.
The series builds on the foundation of the Safe Sleep Ambassador Training and offers tailored modules designed for the specific challenges and opportunities each group encounters. The goal is simple: to help every professional feel confident, informed, and equipped to talk about safe sleep in a way that truly resonates with families.
Early responses show that these modules are making that impact.
From the Child Welfare community, one user shared, “This training is informative and utilizes updated research and terminologies. This is a plus when educating parents about SUID.” Others noted how useful the strategies are for home visits and follow-up conversations, especially for CPS caseworkers.
Among Home Visitors, the appreciation for real-world communication tools has been clear. One participant wrote, “I like the conversational educational inputs, the feedback, and the follow up respecting the clients, their choices, and the recommendations.” The blend of knowledge, practical guidance, and conversation modeling has helped many providers feel more prepared when supporting families through safe sleep transitions.
In the Child Care community, professionals have expressed how accessible and engaging the content feels. One user reflected simply and powerfully, “Very informative and easy to follow along.” That clarity is exactly what we hoped to offer, training that is both comprehensive and easy to integrate into daily caregiving practice.
We are grateful for the dedicated professionals who have taken the time to share their experiences with the Professional Training Series. Your feedback guides our work and affirms the importance of building training that reflects real challenges, real conversations, and real opportunities to protect infants in every environment.
