Spring Safe Sleep Champions Webinar: Now Available for Replay

We had a fantastic Safe Sleep Champions Webinar lined up for the spring, but unfortunately, a storm caused a power outage in our area, and we weren’t able to record it live. However, we’re excited to share that the recording is now available for you to watch at your convenience!

In this webinar, we focused on the critical topic of “The AAP and Infant Safe Sleep: Beyond the Recommendations”, featuring special guests Bonnie Kozial, Manager of Injury, Violence, and Poison Prevention at the American Academy of Pediatrics, and Dr. Elizabeth Murray, AAP Spokesperson and Director of Child Health & Safety Communications at Golisano Children’s Hospital, University of Rochester.

Bonnie and Dr. Murray shared valuable insights into the evolving safe sleep guidelines and what healthcare professionals, families, and communities can do to better protect infants. Their expertise in safe sleep education and advocacy offers essential tools for anyone working to promote safe sleep practices.

Cribs for Kids Joins the National Collaborative for Infants & Toddlers

Cribs for Kids is proud to have become one of the first official members of the National Collaborative for Infants & Toddlers (NCIT)! NCIT is an advocacy movement committed to ensuring that every expectant parent, infant, toddler and their families have what they need to thrive. As members, we are committed to advancing promising prenatal-to-three policies to create and expand systems of care and support for families—reaching every parent and child. We know that when we support babies in their earliest years, they grow into healthy kids who are confident, empathetic, and ready for school and life, and our communities, workforce, and economy become stronger and more productive.

But we can’t do it alone. You too can join the NCIT national network of advocates working to ensure babies and toddlers are on track for success in school and life by age three. Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of expectant parents, infants, and toddlers? The National Collaborative for Infants & Toddlers is part of a national movement passing public policies that help all infants, toddlers, and families thrive. But to be most effective we need you and your voice! You can be a part of our community by responding to action alerts by email, volunteering on campaigns in your local area, or any way in between. And NCIT helps provide all the connections, resources, and support you need! Join and take action today and make a difference in the lives of babies and toddlers!

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Honoring Our Safe Sleep Champions: Nurses and First Responders Leading the Way

In May, we had the privilege of celebrating three key weeks that honor those dedicated to the safety and well-being of others: National Nurses Week, National Hospital Week, and National EMS Week. These observances gave us the perfect opportunity to reflect on and honor the incredible work of our National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program and our National Public Safety Initiative, as well as the dedicated nurses and first responders who make them a success.

Throughout National Nurses Week, we celebrated the vital role nurses play in infant safe sleep. Their expertise, care, and commitment to educating families about safe sleep practices make our National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification program possible. With more than 500 hospitals across the U.S., Canada, and international military hospitals, these nurses help ensure that over 800,000 babies each year are born into safe sleep environments.

During National EMS Week, we took the time to recognize our National Public Safety Initiative, which partners with EMS first responders, our street team for safe sleep. These heroes play a critical role in identifying families who need safe sleep resources during emergencies when a family is struggling with safe sleep practices. By working alongside community organizations and local authorities, these first responders help ensure that families receive cribs, sleep sacks, and vital safe sleep education.

We’re honored to work alongside these Safe Sleep Champions, nurses, first responders, and hospital teams who help us spread the word about safe sleep and make a lasting impact in communities nationwide. Their commitment to our mission is integral to Cribs for Kids’ continued success, and we are grateful for the work they do every day to keep babies safe.
