Cribs for Kids Honors Maura Hanke of Charlie’s Kids with the National Making a Difference Award


In 2024, Cribs for Kids was honored to present the National Making a Difference Award to Maura Hanke of Charlie’s Kids Foundation at the annual Women of Achievement Awards. This prestigious event, held in conjunction with Women’s History Month, recognized 22 Women and 6 Junior Women of Achievement who have made significant contributions to their communities.


Maura was celebrated for her tireless work in the realm of infant safe sleep advocacy. Her leadership and dedication have helped raise awareness about safe sleep practices and reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths. Her unwavering commitment to educating families about safe sleep in honor of her son Charlie has touched the lives of countless families across the country.

8th National Virtual Cribs for Kids Conference


The 2024 Cribs for Kids Conference brought together experts, partners, and advocates to further our shared mission of ensuring safe sleep for every baby. The conference featured presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities for professionals in the safe sleep and child health fields. Attendees gained valuable insights into new research, trends in safe sleep practices, and community engagement strategies. This event was an excellent opportunity to strengthen partnerships and share best practices to continue advancing our mission nationwide.


Cribs for Kids CEO Judith Bannon Honored as One of Women World Magazine's Top 10 Most Ambitious Women in Business


Cribs for Kids CEO Judith Bannon was named one of Women World Magazine’s Top 10 Most Ambitious Women in Business in 2024. This recognition celebrates her unwavering commitment to infant safety and her leadership in founding and growing Cribs for Kids into a national organization. Judith’s vision has inspired countless individuals and organizations to join the mission to ensure every baby sleeps safely.


Cribs for Kids on the Road


In 2024, Cribs for Kids attended several key conferences, including the Safe Kids Safe Sleep Summit, the American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting, the CityMatCH Conference, and NACCHO360. These events allowed us to collaborate with public health professionals and community leaders, advancing safe sleep education and building partnerships to further our mission.


Babies & Bumps Sponsorship


Cribs for Kids was proud to sponsor the Babies & Bumps event series this year. These unique boutique-style events allowed us to connect with new and expectant parents across the country, providing them with the resources they need to create safe sleep environments for their babies. Through this sponsorship, we were able to reach hundreds of families, offering them practical tools, education, and access to Cribs for Kids' safe sleep products.


Cribs for Kids Advisory Board Created


In 2024, Cribs for Kids established an Advisory Board, bringing together a diverse group of experts from across the public health, healthcare, and child advocacy fields. The Board’s role is to provide guidance on key initiatives and help us shape the future of safe sleep education and programming. Their expertise and dedication to reducing infant sleep-related deaths will be critical as we continue to expand our reach and impact.


JPMA Cares Partnership


Cribs for Kids is proud to be a part of the JPMA Cares initiative, which supports infant product safety and educates families on safe sleep. Through this partnership, we have been able to expand our network, collaborate on new initiatives, and continue advocating for safe sleep practices at the national level. Together, we are working to reduce the risks associated with unsafe sleep environments and ensure that every baby has a safe place to sleep.



Return of the Safe Sleep Champions Webinar Series 



The Safe Sleep Champions Webinar Series returned in 2024, and we're excited to continue sharing valuable insights from experts in the field of infant safety. Our first webinar in the series focused on the latest research and best practices for safe sleep. Don’t miss the next episode, airing on January 9th at noon ET, featuring experts discussing SUID prevention and community-based strategies for safe sleep.


Dr. Quinlan, an academic general pediatrician and advocate, will share his extensive experience, including his work on the CDC-funded Sudden Unexpected Infant Death-Case Registry. He will be joined by Dr. Gina Lowell from RUSH University Medical Group, specializing in Pediatrics, who will offer additional insights into the challenges and strategies for preventing SUID in high-risk areas.


In addition to the expert discussion, Devon George will highlight the key achievements of 2024 and share a look ahead at exciting initiatives for 2025.
