Simply download the file and play it to promote safe sleep awareness in a comforting and engaging way.
We've also updated our Safe Sleep Ambassador materials. The new 2-sided Safe Sleep Ambassador card features key information on safe sleep practices. On the back, you’ll find three QR codes for easy access to some of our most popular resources:
-
YouTube Channel: Access a variety of informative videos to help educate families and caregivers.
- Flickr Shared Photo Album: Browse our collection of safe sleep images to share and promote in your community.
- Safe or Not Safe Photo Module: Direct users to the quiz to reinforce their safe sleep knowledge.
Certified hospital partner Sara Drumm of Boston Children’s Hospital on the Cribs for Kids Safe Sleep Ambassador Training.
The final count for newly minted safe sleep Ambassadors in our NICU after a push and displaying the Cribs for Kids postcard in our break room for October Safe Sleep Awareness month was 26! People from all disciplines took the training in addition to medical staff, and even included our chaplain! I received so much positive feedback about the training - people found it interesting and engaging, and even those familiar with safe sleep felt they learned something, so a huge thank you again to all of you at Cribs for Kids for making this available.
These new tools are designed to make it easier for you to share safe sleep education and resources with those you serve. As a partner, you can use these resources in your outreach efforts to engage families, staff, and community members about the importance of infant safe sleep practices.

We are proud to support a diverse group of families and communities, and these new translations—Arabic, English, French, Haitian Creole, Nepali, Somali, Spanish, and Swahili—will make our vital safe sleep information accessible to even more families.
To download these translated materials, simply log into the Partner Resource Portal. If you don’t have access to the portal yet, no worries! Just reach out to us at info@cribsforkids.org and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you for being part of the Cribs for Kids mission to spread safe sleep education nationwide.

Maximizing the Benefits of the Safe or Not Safe Photo Module
Cribs for Kids’ Safe or Not Safe Photo Module is an interactive tool designed to help users assess and reinforce their understanding of infant safe sleep practices. Whether you are a parent, caregiver, educator, or healthcare professional, this tool offers various uses to promote safe sleep education.
The module features 26 images of different sleep environments, prompting users to determine if the setup is “safe” or “not safe.” After each selection, explanations are provided to help clarify safe sleep practices. This self-paced learning experience is ideal for anyone wanting to refresh or test their safe sleep knowledge.
In group settings, the module serves as a valuable discussion starter. It’s perfect for community health organizations, hospitals, and childcare centers. Facilitators can use it during training sessions to engage participants and spark important conversations about safe sleep. The module can also be used as a pre- and post-training evaluation tool. It helps assess participants' current understanding and reinforces key points after training sessions.
Additionally, it’s a great resource for ongoing education. Regular use serves as a refresher for those who’ve already completed safe sleep training, ensuring that safe sleep practices remain top of mind. The Safe or Not Safe Photo Module can also be introduced at public events, health fairs, or as part of safety campaigns to engage the broader community and spread awareness about safe sleep.

Pennsylvania Partners Celebrate Safe Sleep Wins | |
November was officially declared "Infant Safe Sleep Month" in Lycoming County, thanks to the efforts of the County Commissioners and local officials dedicated to raising awareness of infant sleep safety. At a recent meeting, Commissioner Mark Mussina, along with County Coroner Charles Kiessling and his family, made the proclamation to highlight the importance of preventing tragic, preventable deaths caused by unsafe sleep practices.
The Kiessling family, who have been champions of safe sleep advocacy for over 16 years, shared their ongoing commitment to the cause. Katie Kiessling, who now leads the program, emphasized the vital "ABCs" of safe sleep: Alone, on their Back, in a Crib. She also shared personal stories about families affected by unsafe sleep practices and the importance of continued education, even when faced with backlash.
Thanks to continued safe sleep education and the tireless efforts of community members, Lycoming County is proud to announce that it has gone the entire year of 2023 and into 2024 with zero infant deaths in unsafe sleep environments. This achievement reflects the dedication of these local leaders and families working together to create a safer environment for infants.
At Cribs for Kids, we are inspired by these efforts and continue to support communities with the tools and education they need to keep babies safe, not just during Infant Safe Sleep Month but year-round. Together, we are making a real difference in the fight against unsafe sleep-related deaths.
