Seats available for Superstar

With Easter just behind us, what better time to see a live local performance of Jesus Christ Superstar at the CrimeStoppers Night at the Theatre fundraising event, Friday, May 1, 2026? Come for great food and refreshments and then the show.  And fight crime in our city while you do it.

That’s the premise behind our annual fundraising event. 

Our sponsors have helped pay for the costs. We really appreciate them: Anonymous, FedEx, Hepple Family Foundation, Buster’s, another Anonymous company, Bronstein Family Fund, and others. Because of their generous support, every $75 ticket we sell goes to our fund which pays anonymous citizens who call 528-CASH and provide information that leads to charges, warrants and arrests in felony cases.

Tip to Crimestoppers led police

to hideout of wanted juvenile

He was a fugitive wanted for murder. He was 14 years old.

The shooting occurred March 13 of this year. Police arrived at 834 Kerr Avenue to find a male victim on the ground. He had been shot and was dead by the time officers made the scene. Witnesses said two vehicles were parked for a while near the victim and then left just before police arrived.

Memphis Police detectives developed James Fitch, 14, as a suspect from witness statements and issued a warrant for his arrest in the murder. But his location was unknown. The call to CrimeStoppers came on March 20. The tipster told us where Fitch could be found. Officers were dispatched to the location, found the teen and transported him to juvenile detention.

That case was one of five homicide cases that reached a warrant or arrest thanks to tips to CrimeStoppers in March.

CrimeStoppers of Memphis and Shelby County and the ShelbyCounty Criminal Court Clerk's office hosted a successful 10K run at Shelby Farms Park in March to bring attention to 10,000 successful expungements of criminal records.

It was a chilly day but runners didn't mind as they circled the lake that morning. Thanks go to supporters of the event, and congratulations to those who worked hard, including attending clinics, in order to regain full citizenship through legal record expungement.
