What can the Crisfield Arts & Entertainment District Project do for you?

Matching marketing grants: If you are a Crisfield organization holding an event, artist, or business located in the Arts & Entertainment (A & E) District, you can apply by March 1 for a 50/50 match marketing grant of up to $500. For example, an application for $500 would be matched by $500 from the applicant for a total marketing budget of $1,000.
Smaller amounts may be applied for too - for example, $100 may be matched for a $200 total in marketing funds. A simple, easy application is available online at CrisfieldArts.org.

Artist co-op: If you are a Maryland artist, the new artist co-op at the Corbin Studio & Gallery at 4 E Main Street would love to see your work! The opening quarter co-op artists have been chosen and more applicants are welcomed for future participation. Co-op artists exhibit for at least three months and can work as a volunteer at the Corbin to reduce co-op fees. The Corbin will open on a regular basis by this spring. Apply online at CrisfieldArts.org and send three photos to [email protected] to be considered.

Art Bike Rack Design: The Maryland State Arts Council has awarded the Crisfield Arts & Entertainment District Project funding for the design phase of an art bike rack competition. Three artists will be awarded $500 each with at least one awardee selected from Somerset County. Artists do not have to be familiar with three-dimension design to compete.  Applications are due by April 2. More information and applications can be found at CrisfieldArts.org.

Hold a workshop and get paid : If you are an artist with a skill that you would like to share, consider pitching your idea to hold a workshop at the Corbin Studio & Gallery. If you teach a musical instrument, paint, draw or are a photographer, a performing artist, a writer, a hip-hop artist, vidoegrapher, or an expert in another field of art that you would like to share, apply online at CrisfieldArts.org. Workshop instructors are usually paid $200 for a two to four hour workshop but rates may vary depending on expertise and workshop requirements. Please apply four months in advance to allow adequate time for Crisfield Arts & Entertainment District Project and marketing of your workshop. If you would like to hold an event at the Corbin in the summer or fall, now is a great time to apply!
