March 1, 2022

Our hearts go out to the Ukrainian people. We are united in our desire to help children around the world and members of the Kiwanis family have asked how they can be of assistance. The need in Ukraine is urgent, and we can help most by supporting organizations best positioned to quickly and effectively meet local needs.

Below is a short list of organizations that have the infrastructure in place to meet the needs of Ukrainian children immediately.

UNICEF — Kiwanis International and UNICEF have a longstanding relationship. UNICEF ensures children have access to safe water, nutrition, health care, education and protection.

International Committee of the Red Cross — This Switzerland-based organization aims to help people affected by the conflict and supports the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

Save the Children — Save the Children helps to deliver lifesaving aid to vulnerable children in Ukraine and around the world.

Thank you, as always, for putting the safety and security of the world’s children first and foremost in your hearts.
Peter J. Mancuso
2021-22 Kiwanis International President
