If you’re an early riser, you’ve felt our chilly November morning air! If you’re me, it’s refreshing! If you’re not me, you might consider it brisk, or even too darn cold. But it’s this cool air and blue-sky weather that reminds me Halloween is in the rear-view mirror and Thanksgiving is approaching. The time between these two holidays is my favorite ~ it’s still a slower pace, a time when I appreciate all that we have. It’s my Arizona version of Summer Vacation. It’s a time to clean up the yard, straighten the garage, and start my Fall house cleaning. I’m not yet ready to decorate for Christmas, but knowing it comes after Thanksgiving is one more reason that I start to prepare my nest for family and friends.  My wish for you is that your nest is built on a strong branch, with beautiful woven twigs and fibers and decorated with colorful threads.

Our shelves are filled with fabric and the variety this week’s bolts runs the gamut from the Dreaming in Blue floral collection to the newest Pickleball collection and for the cold weather fans new football fabrics! We’ve received a variety of sports themed fabrics, more modern geometrics, and do not underestimate our newest landscape fabrics!  I’ll try to include as many pictures as possible, but we all know that fabric is best appreciated when seen and fondled in person!

Meeting new friends and gathering with old friends – we enjoy providing the opportunity for you to do so! Sew Sisters is a group that meets once or twice monthly, and tomorrow is our November date! Wednesday, November 13^th bring in those projects that you are on a deadline to finish by Christmas. Or, just come in and sew on whatever you have in your UFO pile and enjoy the camaraderie of stitching with like-minded Sisters who enjoy the craft and love to visit. Marilyn is the leader of this fun filled group and available to help solve any issues or answer any questions you might regarding all things quilting. Pajama Mamas is another monthly opportunity to gather with friends on a Friday night! Sign up for this fun after hours event ~ you are free to work on any project you want! The classroom opens at 5pm and stays active until 11pm, you can arrive later or leave earlier, we won’t judge especially if you bring a snack to share.

November lesson you’ll learn how to stitch beautiful freeform feathers. This casual free-hand technique can fill any space. Try a single-sided feather in a border and take a spin with a feathered wreath. Remember, we like to “sketch, then stitch” so bring a notebook. This class is the perfect opportunity to try new things or continue your skill building.
