Corporate Work Study

November 2025

Dear Corporate Work Study Partners,

During the Thanksgiving season, we want to express how truly grateful we are for your partnership. This time of year reminds us how fortunate we are to work alongside dedicated partners like you, individuals and teams who open doors for our students and create meaningful opportunities in your workplaces. The time, care, and mentorship you provide are genuinely life-changing.

We wish you a joyful Thanksgiving in the company of friends, family, and loved ones.

As we near the end of the first semester, we also kindly ask for your collaboration in completing the mid-year evaluation for your students. Your feedback is essential; it helps us strengthen the program and ensures our continued compliance with the Department of Labor.

Thank you once again for your generosity, support, and commitment. Together, we are making an extraordinary impact on the lives of our remarkable students.

Viva Cristo Rey!

Partner Highlights

This month, Cohen & Steers, a leading asset management company in New York City, welcomed 14 Cristo Rey New York girls in the Wild Hearts Society to experience a Women’s Career Panel. The young women got to connect with over a half-dozen professionals from the organization about life as a woman in business.

The opportunities our partners provide for our students to build networks and gain exposure to professional environments are exactly what make Cristo Rey New York High School “The School That Works.”

This week, Goya generously donated a variety of food items to Cristo Rey, helping ensure our families had access to essential groceries during a time of meaningful need. Thanks to their support, our staff and students came together to assemble more than 100 bags of food for our community.

Goya’s partnership continues to strengthen our school, not only by providing valuable workplace opportunities for our students but also by nourishing our families and neighbors.

A heartfelt thank you to Goya for their ongoing generosity and commitment to our Cristo Rey community.

Supervisor Tips

SAPR Mid-Year Evaluation

If you have been a direct supervisor this semester, you will receive an email (similar to the timecard) to complete the "Mid-Year 25-26 Evaluation for your student".

The survey is designed to help us measure and support our students' growth. Your honest feedback will not negatively impact the students. Instead, it will increase our ability to maximize the students' experience and ensure they graduate college-ready and career-prepared. There is an individual email AND a survey link for each student. Please be sure to complete the survey for ALL of your students by December 12th. We really appreciate your help!

If you don't receive the email by the end of the week, or if you are having trouble accessing the link, please contact Dishawn Carcamo.

We need 100% completion for our DOL compliance.

Thank you for your continued support!

Student Associates Attendance

The CWS program has strict rules about attendance.

Students are expected to make up any missed workdays. If your student is absent, you will receive a notification from our system and from your partnership associate.

Students do not get to decide if their make-up day is waived. This can only be determined by their supervisor in accordance with the partnership associate.

If your student was absent during this semester, they were instructed to give you a makeup form upon their return. If you would like the student to make up the day, we recommend using the student's winter break as the time to schedule it.

Volunteer Opportunity

We would like to invite you to help us interview prospective students for the Class of 2030. If you are interested in participating and supporting us in selecting strong candidates for our school and CWS Program, please email Dishawn Carcamo.

Interview Dates:

Thursday, December 11 and Thursday, December 18

Time: 4:00–6:00 PM

Location: Cristo Rey New York High School (112 East 106th St.)

We would greatly appreciate your support!
