Corporate Work Study
October 2025
| | |
Dear Corporate Work Study Partners,
Happy Halloween! We hope that you are enjoying the beautiful fall weather and that your CWS student team is operating at full throttle!
Many thanks to all the partners who joined us for our first virtual Lunch & Learn this month. Sharing best practices is the highlight of these meetings, and I hope they help to enhance everyone's CWS experience. We urge you to keep motivating student associates to take the lead! We encourage them to seek additional tasks, ask questions about procedures, and proactively foster connections with their colleagues.
This month, we celebrated our annual Gala dinner, supported once again by many of our wonderfully generous CWS partners.
Enjoy our October Newsletter and know that we are here to help you in any way we can, so do not hesitate to reach out!
Viva Cristo Rey!

If a student worker becomes ill while at work, they should immediately notify their supervisor. If the supervisor is unavailable, the student should contact the CWSP Office directly by phone.
It is essential that the supervisor contact CWSP staff before the student is dismissed to determine the severity of the illness and coordinate next steps. The CWSP staff will then contact the student’s parents or guardians and arrange for the student to return to school to see the nurse.
Students are not permitted to leave the workplace before the end of the workday unless a plan has been confirmed with the CWSP Office.
| | | We are excited to share that Cristo Rey New York has partnered with iMentor to strengthen the connections between our students and their workplace supervisors. Through this collaboration, we are providing new tools and conversation guides to help supervisors find meaningful ways to engage with their Student Associates, whether it is discussing career goals, sharing advice, or learning more about their students’ interests and aspirations.
Supervisors who would like additional materials or ideas to deepen these connections can access a short guide here, or reach out to our team for tailored support.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for creating an environment where our students feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow.

Timecard Reminder
Let Us Know How Your Student is Doing
| | |
Primary supervisors receive student timecards via email after the student's work day. Supervisor Timecard ratings and notes are the first and most frequent form of feedback Partnership Associates will use to track student progress, alerts and nominations for selecting Students of the Month. It also makes up a big portion of students work-study grades.
Partnership Associates will be in touch in a timely manner to address and implement plans for any student receiving a "1" or "2". They will check in on students who are not exceeding a "3"."
Please let us know if you have any questions about how we can best support you.
| | Student Lions of the Month | | |
The Student "Lion" of the Month award recognizes one student from each grade level who consistently exceeds expectations, based on timecard ratings, supervisor feedback, testimonials, and CWSP recommendations.
Congratulations to our September 2025 Students Lions of the Month!

As we continue to support our graduates beyond high school, we are gathering information on companies currently accepting internship applications for college students.
If your organization is offering internships this year, please let us know! We would love to share these opportunities with our Cristo Rey alumni network and help connect you with talented, motivated college students who have already gained valuable professional experience through the Corporate Work Study Program.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us expand career pathways for our students and alumni.
