Back-to-School: In Full Swing!
Students have now completed two full weeks of school, including their first work week, and we're off to a great start! Please take a moment to mark your calendars for upcoming events in September, and take note of a few reminders that will help us have a smooth school year.
Student Reminders
Ready for Work? A Morning Checklist for Student Workers
Students report to work on the same day every week, plus one Friday every four weeks (see the calendar attached below for the schedule of work days). Here are a few tips and reminders to help your student come to school ready for their work day.

DRESS UNIFORM REQUIRED: Oxford (button-down) shirt with Tie (both ladies and gentlemen), professional dress shoes, well-groomed (that means clean-shaven, for our gentlemen), proper school outerwear.

AT SCHOOL AND ON TIME: Missed work days are a big deal! Avoid scheduling doctor's appointments or other events that will cause a student to miss school on a work day. Students will be invoiced for missed work days! We grant only one excused (with doctor's note) work-day absence per semester. And be sure to be at school by 7:25am on a work day so that you don't miss the work shuttle!

PLAN FOR LUNCH: Students will need to leave school in the morning with a lunch in hand. Our cafeteria provides a school lunch (costs up to $3.20 per meal), or a student can bring a lunch from home. Please remember that work supervisors will not provide lunches for students, and students are not allowed to leave work to pick up a lunch during the work day!

FRIDAY WORK DAYS: New this year, our Friday student workers will return to campus by 2:30pm to take part in our whole-school assemblies and services. After-school buses will run only at 3:35pm on Fridays and NOT at 5:00pm.

Transportation Update - New Policy
Cristo Rey provides transportation for all students in the morning, as well as for students at 3:35pm dismissal (for non-workday students) and again at 5:00pm for student workers. To ensure efficiency and consistency with our after-school bus routes, we will not be able to provide 5:00pm transportation home for a student who is NOT a worker that day. This means a student who stays after school for any kind of after-school program or for detention must arrange for a ride by 5:00pm on those days. Questions? Contact Mrs. Willis at [email protected] or call our Main Office at (225) 615-7479.
