“Critical Connections” Part 4: Our Connection to the World
Like a string of lights, we, as Christians, are so much stronger together than we are on our own. This Sunday, Jesse Fleck will tackle the third critical connection, our connection to the world, and how we can fulfill our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Sunday Celebration
Sunday, Oct. 4, we reached a milestone. More than 200 people attended worship service IN PERSON! It was so good to see so many faces and to hear so many voices lifted in praise to God. Let's make that number even bigger this weekend as we work to strengthen our connection to Christ, to our Christian community and to the world.
Impact Sumner: United Way Kids Coat Drive
Our October Impact Partner is United Way of Sumner County. And not only will we donate $20 for every first time visitor, we are also supporting their Kids Coat Drive. Now through November 5, bring your gently used coats to church and help a child stay warm this winter. Children through teen sizes are needed. Bins will be set up in the atrium each Sunday.

God Sightings in our Men's Discipleship Group
Last week, our men’s discipleship group enjoyed a very special outing for skeet shooting, a shrimp boil and hearty conversation around last week’s sermon. Now in its 4th year, “The group has grown tremendously from where it started in terms of relationships and intentional discipleship,” said group co-leader, Mike Fussell. Together, Mike and Larry Wise have been amazed to see how God has continued to work through the group as the members challenge each other to grow spiritually, while remaining connected in prayer and regular times of fellowship together. Mike and Larry’s group is just one of many examples of how God continues to be at work in groups at HFUMC. If you have not yet found a group to support you in your next steps in Christ, you can learn more and join a group any time at hfumc.org/groups.
Give the Gift of Gideons
We have a special opportunity to give the gift of God's word to someone in need by donating to Gideons International. Gideons is a body of believers dedicated to making the Word of God available to everyone and, in partnership with churches like ours, they aim to make His Word available and accessible to all.

We have created a fund specifically to support Gideons. To donate and help spread God's word, click here. You can also text "HFUMC gideon" to 73256 to give using your mobile device. This number will never send unsolicited texts to you. To cancel further messages, text STOP. If you need assistance with text giving, text HELP. Standard text message and data rates may apply.
