Media Literacy
Media Literacy is about understanding the images and content you or your youth see and to understand how images and content turn into message to impact our behavior, beliefs and actions. Parents can help children learn to navigate the digital world to become media literate. According to Common Sense media, teens on average spend one third of their day accessing media. That’s nearly 9 hours!!! With all the savvy marketing techniques and accusations of fake news, it’s hard to distinguish between what is safe, unsafe, fact, or fiction, it’s even more difficult to navigate if you are a child.
