Critical Illness Insurance Provides Living Benefits, Lump Sum Coverage at a Critical Time

I have been fortunate to be in the Insurance business in South Carolina 36 years now. In these years I have talked with many people about their insurance planning.

One reply was, when asked about Life Insurance, the person would say, "Why would I want a policy to pay me when I'm dead?" No reasonable agent would accept that response but would provide an explanation of the benefits of Life Insurance. These conversations were mostly in past years and at that time there was not a policy that would, "Pay me when I'm alive."

Today there is Critical Illness Insurance.

This type of coverage will pay a lump sum benefit to the insured in the event of a heart attack, stroke, heart bypass surgery, kidney failure, cancer diagnosis and other critical illnesses named in the policy. Policies can be customized to cover one or more events. Benefits are 10,000 to 100,000, individual or family coverage for terms of 10 to 30 years or lifetime.

Critical Illness Insurance will pay a cash benefit when it is needed most, at a critical time in life.
