October 1, 2019

Dear Friends,

The next few weeks are fulled with opportunities to learn more and engage in the community. Please encourage all high school students and their families you know to join me this  Wednesday for my 5th Annual Parkdale High School College & Career Fair. In addition to nearly 50 college and employment recruiters, we will have three important workshops at 6 p.m.

Scroll down for details about the October 7 meeting to learn more about two new middle schools being built in District 3, and a community update on plans for the Historic Glenn Dale Hospital property on October 17.

In addition to the events listed below and on the right, this is a busy time legislatively with the Prince George's County Council. I'm proud to have several bills working their way through committee right now, including legislation to make it easier for neighborhoods to implement the Residential Parking Permit Program. The Council is also considering legislation to regulate 5G/small cell facilities in the County as well as an updated animal control ordinance. Last year the Council passed legislation to regulate short-term rentals; learn more about those regulations which take effect today.

Keep up-to-date with our meeting agendas, and watch live-streamed and archived hearings here. Sign up to receive a weekly wrap-up of Council business here.
