Critical Praise for FIFTH OF JULY, Continuing This Weekend
Tensions mount at the Talley home in Town Players' FIFTH OF JULY.

We're basking in the afterglow of a successful opening weekend of Lanford Wilson's FIFTH OF JULY at Town Players - but we can't rest on our laurels! The production continues this weekend at The Little Theatre.

Writing for, Kathleen Mosel says, "The piece is getting a strong and engaging revival with the Town Players of Newtown. Beautifully staged by Maureen Trotto, so much so that this might be the surprise of the season," and "The cast is exquisite, with just the right amount of chemistry and angst. Their struggles are relatable and palpable for any audience."

Why not see what all the fuss is about for yourself?

FIFTH OF JULY continues through May 16. Curtain times are 8 PM Fridays and Saturdays, with a 2 PM matinee on May 3.

Reminder - ONE ACT Auditions May 4 & 5

Town Players of Newtown is pleased to announce auditions for an evening of one acts Monday and Tuesday, May 4 & 5, from 7-9 PM.

We are mounting an evening of a combination of published works - THE PROBLEM by A.R. Gurney, PORCH by Jack Heifner and THE PROPOSAL by Anton Chekov - as well as original works by local playwrights.

Directors include Timothy Huebenthal of Southbury, Terry Sagedy of Newtown, Sherry Asch of Brewster, NY and Terry Polvay of Sandy Hook.

The production calls for multiple men and women.
Actors should be ready to read sides from the script. No appointment is necessary. All roles are available.

Rehearsals times are very flexible, and the production runs Friday and Saturday evenings, July 31 - August 9, with one Sunday matinee.
