There has been much controversy about the divisive Marxist teaching called Critical Race Theory (CRT). Yes, I’m on the side against teaching children that one race, ethnic group, or sex is in anyway superior or oppressive to another. Our Arizona Legislature agrees that the public schools in Arizona should not teach discrimination based on such philosophy. Last week, Governor Ducey signed HB 2898 into law that prohibits such practice. They put teeth into the law too by imposing fines up to $5,000 to schools who violate the law.
Our Legislature also passed and the Governor signed HB 2906 that keeps Arizona from teaching state and local government employees that they are inherently racist, sexist or oppressive.
This move by Arizona and several other states puts us at odds with the Federal Government that is spending our money teaching Critical Race Theory to federal government workers, our military academies and the US military. The two largest teachers unions have lined up on the side of CRT as well.
Let me be perfectly clear, Marxism is opposed to Christianity. Karl Marx replaced God with “scientific humanism”. Marxist Critical Theory in general is designed to tear down the establishment to bring about a Marxist revolution. In Marxism, the church must be eliminated to bring about such a revolution.
In Christianity, all forms of racism is sin. All of us sin as individuals and have individual responsibility to treat each others as brothers and sisters in Christ. God doesn’t judge us for the sins of past generations. Deuteronomy 24:16 “Parents must not be put to death for the sins of their children, nor children for the sins of their parents. Those deserving to die must be put to death for their own sins”.
In God’s world view, there is one race, the human race. Galatians 3:27-28 “For as many as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew or Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus”.
Thank you Arizona Legislature and Governor Ducey for protecting our children and state employees from hateful, racist teaching.
