Dear Chamber Members,
This November, let’s come together to help local families enjoy a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings!
The Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce is supporting the Crofton Christian Caring Council (CCCC) by collecting food for its Christmas Meal Bags, which CCCC will assemble for families in need.
This is where YOU—and your business—come in!
📦 Be a community collection spot. We’re looking for 4–5 local Chamber businesses to host a food donation drop box during November. We’ll direct community members to participating locations so they can drop off items from the Christmas Meal Bag shopping list.
🛒 Give your office a holiday challenge! Gather your coworkers and see how many meal bags your team can help fill. Divide up the shopping list, set a collection goal, or start a friendly competition between departments. A little teamwork can bring a lot of Christmas cheer! Be sure to let us know you accept the challenge!
❤️ Spread the word. Invite your customers, clients, and neighbors to join the effort. Every donated item brings us closer to helping another family gather around the table.
Whether you host a box, rally your office, or pick up a few extra groceries, you can help make Christmas brighter for our neighbors.
Interested in hosting a drop box or organizing an office collection? Contact me for the shopping list and details at info@croftonchamber.com!
Thank you for helping us put the spirit of giving into action.
Warmly,
Joy Hutter
Executive Director
Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce

Brew & Bagels: Connecting Businesses Over Coffee & Bagels
What a great morning of connections, conversations, collaboration - and a little Maryland Trivia!
We were excited to host our Brew & Bagels Power Speed Networking Breakfast, bringing together business professionals from across the region for a morning focused on building relationships and expanding networks.
Through structured speed networking, attendees had the opportunity to meet new people, learn about local businesses, exchange ideas, and discover potential referral and collaboration opportunities. The energy in the room was a great reminder that strong business relationships are built through meaningful connections.
But networking wasn't the only fun we had! Our Executive Director, Joy Hutter, added a little friendly competition to the morning with a Maryland Trivia Game! Attendees put their Maryland knowledge to the test, and we had some impressive trivia skills in the room.
Congratulations to our Maryland Trivia winners! We loved seeing everyone get involved and have some fun between networking rounds.
A special thank you to our fellow chambers and business associations for joining us and bringing your members to the table:
- Greater Severna Park & Arnold Chamber of Commerce
- Southern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce
- Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce
- Pasadena Business Association
We are grateful for your partnership and for helping make the morning such a valuable networking experience!
And, of course, thank you to Nico’s Bagels & Brunch for providing a delicious breakfast and helping fuel our morning of connections.
We appreciate everyone who joined us, shared their business, made introductions, and helped create new relationships within our regional business community.
Here's to the connections made—and the opportunities that grow from them!

Congratulations to Rebecca Murphy of iCode Gambrills!
We’re thrilled to congratulate Rebecca Murphy, owner of iCode Gambrills, on being selected to receive the Brand Champion Award from campus owners across the entire iCode franchise system!
This special award recognizes a campus owner who exemplifies iCode’s brand standards, builds awareness and meaningful connections within their community, and advocates for the iCode brand both locally and throughout the franchise system.
Rebecca has truly embraced that mission, bringing iCode into the community through classrooms, school partnerships, community festivals, Chamber events, and more. And, of course, iZak as become a familiar face at many of those community experiences!
That commitment is exactly what makes Rebecca and iCode Gambrills such a valued part of our Chamber community. We’re proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and the impact Rebecca continues to make by connecting technology education with community engagement.
Congratulations, Rebecca! We’re excited to see where your passion for education, technology, and community connection takes you next!

Nonprofit Spotlight
Sarah's House
Sarah’s House is a shelter housed in former barracks on the Army post at Fort Meade. Their mission is to serve families and single adults experiencing homelessness. They have been serving this population since 1987.
Sarah’s House is a supportive housing program offering emergency shelter and project-based supportive housing with an array of other services for families experiencing homelessness in Anne Arundel County. Serving up to 125 people daily, half of whom are children, our goal is to affect positive change in families by providing a range of services and support. These services include short-term emergency shelter, long-term supportive housing, rapid rehousing, intensive case management, transportation, counseling, and outreach support. They hope to assist clients in their journey towards independence.
Aside from helping to spread the word about Sarah's House, they have in-kind needs currently for toiletries, twin-sized linens, and paper products such as bathroom tissue, paper towels, napkins, and paper plates. These donations can be dropped off at their location: 2015 20th Street, Fort Meade, MD 20755.
Those interested in supporting their work as volunteers can contact Volunteer Resource Manager Bruce Clopein at bclopein@cc-md.org.
Sarah's House will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event for their families on Monday, October 26th from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Let Bruce know if you can volunteer for this event.
They have also begun planning their 40th anniversary celebration in 2027
