Name of Business: Living in the Triangle magazine
Point of Contact: James Harvey

Length of time business has been operating: Since 2015

Description of Business: Living in the Triangle is a monthly family magazine for and by residents of Crofton. There is both a print distribution and an e-book distribution. We also host several community events each year; some for fun, some to raise money for local charities. There are sister publications in Davidsonville, South River Colony, Shipley’s Choice and Chartwell.

Your Business Mission Statement Our mission is to promote a sense of community in the neighborhoods that we serve.

What’s Your Why? I live dead center in Crofton and know firsthand what this magazine means for the people of Crofton, and to the businesses and organizations in and around Crofton. The community has come to depend on it and expect it. Also, 2% of all revenues go to fight human trafficking.

What sets your business apart from others? We are not a coupon book or a regional magazine, we are about the people of Crofton and readership is virtually 100%. There is absolutely nothing, in any media, that more effectively reaches the people of Crofton or the other communities that we serve … it’s not even close. For our advertisers, we give them the opportunity to get involved in the community, we do Facebook advertising and offer complete support services from blogging, branding, and SEO services to web design and development. Our approach is to provide complete small business support and an integrated community marketing program.

What are some of the personal rewards that come from your business? Folks in Crofton know who I am and often reach out to me for support or recommendations. After a long career doing business internationally, it is very rewarding to be able to help my hometown and be proactive.

How long have you been a chamber member? Since late 2014

What benefits have you experienced with your chamber membership? Many local businesses have learned about Living in the Triangle through the GCCC. Owners who receive the magazine at home get what it’s all about, but many local businesses are owned by folks that don’t live right here, and the GCCC helps me get to know and reach those folks.

Do you offer any discounts? Please specify: 10% discount for any GCCC members that want to participate in our integrated community marketing program.
We would love to celebrate our Chamber Members. Have you received an award recently? Been recognized for a business achievement? Celebrating a milestone in your business? Let us know! Email info@croftonchamber.com or contact us through Facebook Messenger.
Executive Director's Message
Greetings,

It was wonderful to see so many of our members at the LinkNetworking event at the Crowne Plaza Annapolis last Tuesday. Everyone present felt comfortable networking in person thanks to First Call Medical Center taking temperatures at check-in and Brand Boosters supplying color-coded lanyards.

Please take a few moments to assist us in planning upcoming events by completing this short survey. Survey

If you have any suggestions or ideas for events you would like to have in 2021, please call the office or email me. We are open to any feedback and always ready to assist our members!

All the best,

Every Wednesday we will make three posts on our Facebook page (Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce) written by Greater Crofton Chamber Members. We will have one for Physical Wellness, one for Emotional Wellness and one for Financial Wellness. This will be an opportunity for members to share and support one another, especially during these interesting times we are experiencing.

This past week we had a Physical Wellness tip from Arbonne Healthy Living with Kari Whitman, an Emotional Wellness tip from Alzheimer's Association, Greater Maryland Chapter, and a Financial Wellness tip from Small Business Advisors.
