2016 Season Underway
We launched our 2016 season on Saturday with the help of roughly 250 runners in the Bluemont Shamrock 5K, which began and ended at the farm market. After running in the cold rain, many of those brave drenched souls went up the mountain to Dirt Farm and took advantage of the complimentary tasting available to all runners. While they were up there enjoying Boots Off IPA and oysters from Nomini Bay Oyster Ranch, the mountain was engulfed in dense now storm -- a beautiful surprise!

The newly-re-covered greenhouse is currently incubating thousands of young plants -- kale, leeks, chard, lettuce, jalapeƱos, pimento peppers, cabbage, parsley, mizuna, broccoli. egg plant, Sweetie Tom tomatoes, and purslane. Peaches, apples, plums, and strawberries have begun to bloom, and the cow train is up and running again. The market is still full of baby chicks -- if you ordered some to take home, please pick them up this week. We're open every day from 10:00 to 5:00, except for Easter Sunday, with wagon rides each day at 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00.
