CSA Week 19

Newcomers to our CSA program may be unfamiliar with those big curved things. They're called neck pumpkins, but they're pretty similar to butternut squash. And they're huge: each one has enough meat for three or four pies and a couple of gallons of soup. You can turn them in a savory direction with onions and sage, or sweeten them with apples or pears.

Follow these links to recipes for long neck squash soup and long neck pumpkin pie .

Fall Roosteraunt schedule: During the month of October, the Roosteraunt is open daily from 11:00 to 3:00.

One-time Seasonal Bonus: Each share includes 1 jack-o-lantern pumpkin and 1 neck pumpkin which you may pick any time between now and October 31, while supplies last. Please sign out your seasonal bonus on the CSA check-out sheet. Thanks
