About the Program

This presentation will address US legal and tax considerations for foreign persons acquiring US real property investments in the United States. We will discuss typical ownership structures that trigger inadvertent US income, estate and gift tax issues, as well as typical US income and estate planning techniques commonly utilized for US persons which may result in adverse foreign country tax consequences for investors from Canada, Australia, HK and China.

This program is presented by the Immigration Law Section, chaired by Ali Brodie and co-sponsored by the Real Estate Law and Taxation Law Sections. Find out more about the sections at www.bhba.org.
