Changes to Online Payments

Starting this month, we have made the decision to discontinue using PayPal for online transactions. We are now accepting payment for daily parking fees on Square. No account is required to pay, however there is the option to connect Google Pay or create a Square Pay account for faster checkout.

As an alternate, we have also set up a CanadaHelps link. For more information on our parking policy, please visit crossconservation.org/visit/parking

2024 parking passes will be on sale September 1, 2023 for $100 and will be sold through CanadaHelps.

Goodwin Reservoir Fish Release

If you follow us on Facebook, you may have noticed a post about 325 rainbow trout that were recently stocked at Goodwin Reservoir near the Old Rothney Farm at the ASCCA.

With help from Alberta Environment and Parks and the Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery, we're excited to create opportunities for children to spend a day fishing in nature, later this summer.

New Trail Signs

It's been a busy spring but we're pleased to share that new interpretive trail signs have been placed, featuring artwork submitted in our trail signs art contest last year. The majority can now be found along Aspen Trail.

Old posts have been replaced and all of our signs have been framed to protect them from cattle rubbing and the elements. Thank you to all of our featured artists! Your art will have a home in nature for years to come.

Forest Bathing Walks

Forest Bathing walks with guides from the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy will continue into October.

Inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, our forest bathing walks are three hour long experiences with a focus on slowing down and taking time to connect more deeply with nature.

Walks are aimed towards adults but all ages are welcome. To register for an upcoming walk and for more information please visit our events calendar.

Kathleen McNally joins our Board of Directors

The ASCCA recently welcomed Calgary businesswoman Kathleen McNally to our Board of Directors. Former CEO of Big Rock Brewery and current board member for Calgary Arts Development, Kathleen is an advocate for inclusion, accessibility and diversity.

We look forward to Kathleen's contributions as we continue our commitments to habitat conservation, responsible land management and education.

Farewell CCC Volunteer Interns!

Good luck and goodbye to our four volunteer interns from the Canadian Wildlife Federation's Canadian Conservation Corps (CCC) program.

The ASCCA has taken on volunteers from this program since 2020, and this year (L-R) Darla, Alex, Emma and Jesse were a fantastic help with spring education programs and more.

Read their blog on our website.
