Welcome Back Julianna!

Our Education Assistant, Julianna Aiello has returned for another year supporting spring education programs at ASCCA.

"My time there had such a meaningful impact on me - both as an aspiring educator and someone who enjoys the outdoors. Not only was this job relevant to my degree, but it was so beneficial towards my own mental health."

Rogers Birdies for Kids

We are excited to again be a participating charity in Rogers Birdies for Kids, presented by Altalink. Until August 31, all donations we receive will be matched by 50%, doubling every contribution.

Every donation makes an impact. Help us to continue Ann and Sandy's legacy of habitat conservation and meaningful outdoor education programs for young people.

BugQuest Insect Study

If you've hiked in the area recently, you may have noticed a tent-like structure near Aspen Trail not far from our building. This is a 'Malaise Trap' meant for capturing flying insects. Insects are attracted to a saltwater solution at the top of the trap, where they are caught in a bottle.

From now until November, the ASCCA is a participating site in
BugQuest, Canada's largest ever insect study. We will be mailing insects caught each week to the University of Guelph and will be sent a detailed report when the DNA from our bottles is analyzed.
