Dear Roots Crew,

Just because summer is heading to a close doesn't mean the fall will be any less HOT with fun and exciting events at Roots.
It starts TONIGHT with the third edition of the Cool Cruel Summer Series paired with a food sampling from Noble Savage Foods. Read on in this email for details on the Noble Savage Foods Paleo/Zone portioned meals now available for purchase at Roots!
In this email we cover new programs kicking off this fall such as CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Teens, and CrossFit for Cyclocross.
And don't forget to mark your calendars for the annual anniversary party.  That's right, Roots is turning FOUR! Keep an eye out for the shop Evite and mark your calendar for Friday, August 30th!

And last but not least, we are very pleased and excited to welcome a new coach to Roots - Trevor Gibson.

Upcoming Events at Roots

Thursday, August 1st (TODAY!) - Cool Cruel Summer Benchmark Workout and Happy Hour
Test a spicy benchmark workout and stick around for happy hour! We will be running heats from 4:30-7. Please show up by 6:30 to put yourself in a heat. Noble Savage Foods will be providing dinner options for $10.  They'll also have samples of their food options which will be available for purchase daily at Roots starting next week.  Read below for more details!
Wednesday, August 7th - Women & CrossFit Introductory Session with lululemon, 11am
Join us and the lululemon Boulder team to learn more about CrossFit, our Women's Only Program, and try a workout. The location will be announced on the Roots Blog.
Tuesday, August 20th - Free Class & Intro Session, 7pm
Interested in CrossFit or have a friend that you'd love to introduce to Roots?  Sign-up for the Free Class & Intro Session. Email Stefanie to reserve a space.
Saturday & Sunday, August 24th and 25th - Park WODs
Take your fitness outside! All Saturday and Sunday classes will be held at North Boulder Park for the August edition of Park Workout Weekends. Sign up on MBO. Classes will meet at the southwest corner of the park.
Friday, August 30th - Roots Four Year Anniversary and Athlete Appreciation Party, 5pm

Roots wants to thank you for 4 years of fun and fitness! The Roots Four Year Anniversary party will be held at North Boulder Park. Dinner is on us!  Bring a drink to share. Even with the best intentions many of us end up wandering the aisles of the Whole Foods prepared foods section trying to make good choices but struggling to do so everytime
Fear NOT!  Noble Savage Foods is here to save the day.
Starting this week, Roots will stock Paleo/Zone proportioned meals.  How do you get your hands on one?  It's simple! Register for a fridge card, load some money to your card, swipe, pull the meal of your choice, and enjoy a simple way to support the work you do in the gym!

Dont' make your fitness efforts a teeter totter with the food you consume - make a commitment to your workouts and your nutrition and reap the incredible benefits of looking and performing WELL!

Say Hello to a New Face at Roots!

We are very pleased and excited to welcome a new coach to Roots - Trevor Gibson. Trevor comes to us from Redwood City, California where he was a high school math teacher at Summit Preparatory High School for the past three years. Trevor has been coaching CrossFit since 2010 and began his coaching career as a kids swim coach in 1998. Trevor will be teaching group classes as well as heading up the CrossFit Kids and CrossFit Teens programs.  Please join us in welcoming him to Roots.

Fall Session Starts September 2nd!

CrossFit Kids and CrossFit Teens are BACK in an expanded program this fall.  The program runs from September 2nd through October 31st.  Details below!  
CrossFit Kids Age Groups and Class Times:
1st through 3rd grade* - Wednesdays and Fridays 3:15 - 4pm
4th through 7th grade* - Wednesdays and Fridays 4 - 4:45pm
All Kids - Saturdays at 9am on Sept 14th, Sept 28th, Oct 12th and Oct 26th. 
Program Length: 
Wednesday, September 4th - Wednesday, October 30th
CrossFit Kids Cost and Sign-up:
  • 7 class punchcard - $105*
  • 10 class punchcard - $140*
  • All classes - $198
* Punchcards expire at the end of the program. 
15% discount on CrossFit Kids packages if parent/guardian is a current Roots member. Email Trevor for a discount code.
CrossFit Teens Class Times:
Mondays and Wednesdays 6-7am
Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-5pm
Program Length: Monday, September 2nd through Thursday, October 31st 
CrossFit Teens Cost and Sign-up:
  • (2) classes per week: $120/month
  • Unlimited classes: $175/month

CrossFit Kids at Roots
CrossFit Roots Kids program was a huge hit this summer! This fall we kick it into high gear. More fun and more bacon!

Rule the Cyclocross Season This Fall.

Looking to improve for this upcoming cycloscross season?  Or looking for a way to jump start your training?
Come join us at Roots for a class mixed with current Pros and amateurs in Cyclocross.  The program will take the tenets of a strong general physical preparedness program and tailor it to the needs of a cyclocross athlete.  The structure of the program is designed to improve strength, agility, and stamina with cyclocross specific movement and metabolic pathways.
Program Length: 
August 12th through October 14th
Program Meeting Times: 
Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 8:30am
Program Cost:
$150.00 per month (billed on the 15th for two months)
Sign-up Information:
To sign-up, email Stefanie Christensen to reserve a spot.  The program is limited to 8 athletes. 
CrossFit and cyclocross are a fantastic pairing. Come check it out.
Roots was 16th!
Thank you to everyone who came out for CrossFit For Hope! It was a blast! With your help, we raised $4,518.00 for St. Jude Children's Hospital.  We were one of the top 20 affiliates to raise money (16th).  Great work Roots!

The Competitor Program is designed for shop athletes who wish to take their CrossFitting a step beyond general physical fitness. It's for those who wish to make CrossFit their sport of choice.
