Our Vision Program, designed and funded by the MEDARVA Foundation, sees patients from CrossOver as well as seven other medical safety-net providers.
Thanks to volunteers and generous donations of equipment, we are able to provide state of the art eye care.
One of these donations is a visual field machine provided by Virginia Eye Institute. CrossOver is the only charitable clinic in the Metro Richmond area to have this equipment. A visual field machine measures a patient's peripheral vision and is vital to the treatment of glaucoma.
Once per year, glaucoma patients receive the test, which helps determine when to start or change treatment, and whether or not surgery is needed.
The visual field machine can also detect vision changes due to stroke or other neurological conditions, making it a key part of our patients overall health.
