Spotlight on our Senior...
I want to take this time to do a "Student Spotlight" on our senior, Anna Cantu. She was recently accepted into the University of Texas at Austin E4 Program. This program was started in 2018 and provides a post-secondary experience for High School Graduates. This program was specifically created for diverse populations. Anna has yet to decide if she will accept this offer, however if she does it means that she will be moving to Austin to live in a dorm for a month during the summer, then she would begin training to become a personal care attendant.

Anna is still applying to other programs and is weighing them all equally, but I am so proud of her and wanted to share the news with everyone. I've known Anna since she was eight years old and being one of her teachers over these last ten years has been remarkable. She has amazed me on several occasions and challenged me on several others. I am so happy for her and could not be prouder of the adult she is becoming. I feel blessed to have been a part of her youth and can't wait to see what she accomplishes in the future. Way to go, Anna!

Remote Learning Schedule Creates Structure for Students Learning at Home

Dear Parents,

I hope you are well and staying safe. I have attached a schedule in the effort to build in some structure with how classes will be taught. With our students there is always a high level of individualization, but in an effort to make things more manageable at home we created a schedule. The purpose of this is to guide students to when they should be working on a particular subject. These times could also be for when full class video lessons will be held. Our goal is for the students to follow this as closely as possible and use the times in-between to work on individualized assignments. With that being said, we know that each of you have different approaches at home and these times may not work out. In these instances, we can easily work around some scheduling issues and teachers are still available most of the day to have one-on-one sessions. Teacher hours will be from 8:30AM - 4:00PM, so it would be best to contact them during those times.

Art Curriculum & Resources
Mr. Josh is utilizing an on-line Art curriculum developed by Dorie Mishael for use in her school in Virginia. Crossroads students have already started working on a variety of Art Choices from the board. Although the board below was designed for Elementary students, all of the projects are appropriate for older grades. Art is a subject that is not limited or defined by age! Click on the link below to find resources, videos and instructions to complete the activities.

Above are completed projects done by Crossroads students using assignments from one of the grids on the website.
