At Crossroads we do so much more than teach academic skills. We strive to teach life skills, problem solving, group dynamics and more. I'm excited to share with you that our Audio/Visual class will be taking the official school pictures this year. This is one example of a project-based, team learn opportunity. The students are equally excited to put their skills and training to a practical use.
In a world full of selfies that are captured in an instant, our students are learning to think about the details and planning necessary to take a good portrait. They are experimenting with lighting, planning and testing backdrop locations and learning how to interact with their subject to catch a natural image that reflects the personality of the individual. If the first test shots are any indication, I think this year's school photos will be outstanding.
The AV students have created a schedule for picture taking. Parents will receive an email providing the specific day for each student's photo. We hope our student come to school well-groomed every day but especially encourage a clean face and nice clothes on picture day!
